Star Wars Legacy comics discussion thread

Inspired by Prime's KoTOR comics discussion thread, I've decided to start one about the Legacy comics series.

When I read the first two issues I wasn't very thrilled with the story, but after taking a look at the third and fourth issue and the preview for the upcoming fifth issue I have become intrigued.

The story starts in a ''Conan the Barbarian'' style with more fight than talk in the first two issues, but then it takes a turn in the third issue and begins to show something more than senseless action. It may yet prove quite interesting.

Here are the links to the official previews for the first five issues:

Star Wars Legacy 1

Star Wars Legacy 2

Star Wars Legacy 3

Star Wars Legacy 4

Star Wars Legacy 5

Like most post-eu content, it doesnt interest me. Never been a big fan of the Sith returning in great numbers and all that because it pretty much ignores the fact that Luke brought order to the force and the galaxy should have entered a 1000 year era of peace and prosperity.

While this thread's topic works for Ahto it would be better suited for the Expanded Universe forum.

I might get it when it comes out in TPB, I hate buying seperate issues cause I always end up missing one or two...
Same here. I'd rather not have to wait the required monthly intervals for new issues. I'd rather wait until the story is done and get the TPB.

I've stick with it so far, and sometimes I think its great and others I think it is just so so. But I'm going to give it a while longer before deciding to drop it. I do feel that the era has huge potential, and I hope it lives up to it in the end.

Some of the characters I like, and I think Darth Krayt appears to be different at this stage from standard evil villains. Kade is somewhat interesting at this point. Overall it is too early to really get a feel for the elements of most of the characters.

But I'd say I'm currently enjoying the KOTOR series more right now...

(And props to Herbs for sticking with the original post-EU intentions from the films!)

Ehm...the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion is set 25 ABY (Wookipedia), and the Legacy-comics around 130 ABY.

You're only a minor 100 years of, Sabretooth :^:

Wow, I always thought that the yuuzhan Vong ruled the galaxy for 50-100 years and were then overthrown, or something. Never really liked or read that part, though I liked the original concept of the Yuuzhan Vong.

The Legacy comics focus more on the Sith than the Vong, actually. :)

After advising people to read them, I should do that myself. :xp:

No, actually I was referring to RC's post and the previous conversation about the YV invasion. Nothing about these news kids.

So, whats the premise this time? Evil Sith out to conquer? One guy saves it?

Ah, I see. Carry on, then! :xp:

How did you know! :xp:

Actually, the evil Sith have conquered the galaxy this time (well, Coruscant at least), but still face opposition. There's a difference. :xp:

I've read some of them too...just a short intreo for ya, Sabre:

Some events might get mixed up, as I've only read several issues, not all.

Heavy spoiler..yeah...heavy...:D

Jedi are going strong...when Darth Krayt and his fellow henchman rise to kill them. Kray has studied many Sith holocrons, including some of Darth Bane and Darth Nihilus, about obtaining immortality and unlimited power. He first overthrows the Empire, and the Imperial Knights. (The Empire and Republic live relatively peacefully together at that moment. The Empire even has it's own Jedi, the afformentioned Knights.) He then proclaims himself Emperor, and start killing Jedi, including Kol Skywalker. Only a few knights remain, who start searching for Cade Skywalker, and exiled Jedi who became a bounty hunter. The Skywalker family must be restored to bring peace again.

I apologize in advance for double posting, but I wanted to say that the fifth issue of the Legacy comics was released a few days ago and although the story is again more action than talk, quite a few interesting story details were revealed, plus Darth Nihilus has a cameo at the beginning as a Force ghost (check the preview link in the first post here), where something is revealed about him as well, something I don't remember being mentioned in TSL.

Why in all the nine hells did they name an issue "Noob"?!?!?! WHY? Why use a very, very modern popular word (whom no one will remember, much less use in two years tops) for a "timeless" sci-fi story? It's like reading an ancient greek tragedy and Medea (a character in a play that bears her name) saying "What's up doc?".

I really wonder how something like this got approved and what the motivation behind it was.

:firemad: So annoyed right now...

At least they don't say "Frack".
