Nerd_Annhilator Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I need new headphones. No, not earphones. I hate those! The ones that fully cover my ears. I can't have the price really exceed 100 bucks but I want a pair that sound really really good, and are comfortable (makes sense), but I can't really make a decision on my own. I'm not going to make a purchase based on specs that I read. Anyone know of any good makes/ specific headphones? EDIT: I like bass, lots of clear bass. Not the constant rumble kind. I want to feel the instruments in the song being played, if that makes any sense. Yes I know thats a bit tough with headphones, but its not impossible.
BongoBob Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 One word. Sennheiser. I don't know if you mean the kind that go all the way around your ear, or just ones that cover your ear, but if you mean the latter, I have the Sennheiser PX100s, and they're the best headphones I've ever owned. They're lightweight, extremely comfortable, and have crisp clear bass. Hope that helps you out EDIT: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PX-100-Collapsible-Headphones/dp/B000089GN3/sr=8-1/qid=1164581212/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-2846216-9318035?ie=UTF8&s=electronics Cheers
The Seeker Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I just bought these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000235UU0/104-6750111-2724714 Best headphones ever. They have a force feedback system with integrated surround sound. Playing call of duty, I look like a trauma patient flinching because the explosion was right there. Awsome.
milo Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 My friend has a pair of skullcandy headphones that have a subwoofer built in. They're pretty sweet.
MrWally Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Hmm... those actually look quite good, Bongo.
IG-64 Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-V150-Monitor-Headphones-Reversible/dp/B000092YPR/sr=1-1/qid=1164585080/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-6970128-9844749?ie=UTF8&s=electronics Me and my brother get those. They're cheap, cover your ear, are good quality, and they're pretty sturdy, and last long. They're a pretty tight fit, so they press on your ears a bit, which makes your head hurt after a long time (probably past the doctor-recommended headphone limit anyways), but that also means the sound is clearer and they stay on your head better.

I think my brother had that same model, they were quite nice while they lasted. His pair broke but that was because of severe roommate abuse, which hopefully you won't have to worry about.
swphreak Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I've had my Sony MDR-V600 headphones for quite awhile now, and it still works fine. I'm not attuned to sound quality as other people, but it sounds great to me. And you can get them for 70 bucks at Amazon.com, I know I sure as hell didn't pay $120 for them. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-V600-Monitor-Headphones-Circum-Aural/dp/B00001W0DI/sr=8-1/qid=1164591095/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-2734819-9766328?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

The Seeker Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 o....m....g.... Do you have a special sound card, though? Nope, just integrated mobo connections. It actually rumbles in your head. It's like a surround sound system strapped to your head.
Mike Windu Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I have Sony MDR V150... and they work fine for me. Cost about 30 bucks. I need new earphones though, my creative ones are borked
Elijah Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I cant handle tight headphones as much as I love good sound, because of my ears, I end up with huge red marks on my kneck for hours.

Nerd_Annhilator Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 I went with the AKG K-55 headphones. I tried a bunch of Sony headphones out, and then the AKG headphones. I like em a lot. Work perfectly with my mp3 player
