Anybody up for an in-house production from LA? They can do some brilliant things sometimes.

I'd rather leave it to a company that has extensive exeprience with RPGs. :)

Obsidian could end up working on both at once. It's not an impossible feat.

Square Enix!!!

Uh-oh...I predict emo Jedi cutscenes like the slimey ones from Kingdom Hearts. OR they could make them Advent Children-cool like, and own the sh*t....

Enter Blizzard. Diablo ftw! :D

Edit: Kotor mmorpg? :xp:

KOTOR #25623578262385!

: Revenge of the Return Of The Ghost Of Kreia's Ninth Cousin Twelve Times Removed and the McGuffin of Mild Ickyness!

:xp:

Still, the only downside I can see to having 25623578262385 games in the series is the lack of time to play them all...

AFAIK LucasArts has never made an RP video game. So while I think it's a possibility I'm not real keen on the idea. I would want LA to make an RPG for a different series to see how it turned out before I embrace the idea of LA making the next installment in the KotOR series. Of course I realize I have no say whatsoever in the matter. :D

Hmmm... I dont think that LA is focusing their efforts on developing games right now. They're more like producing them, when other softhouse does the dirt work.
While that may have been true in the past few years the trend doesn't look like it will continue. LucasArts is making Star Wars 2007 and the new Indiana Jones game in-house, not via a third party developer. Statements made by LucasArts president Jim Ward seem to indicate he wants LA to make the games for its own IP. Of course LucasArts also continues its role as a publisher, establishing agreements with game development companies like Free Radical Design and Day 1 Studios for future games.

Ok everybody il answear it plain and simple: I talk on behalf of KOTOR III on xbox 360 not PC, anyway in an xbox 360 magazine i have - BioWare is currently working on Mass Effect yes.. but it also states they do have plans to develop KOTOR III on behalf of LucasArts and will most probably work with them if KOTOR III will be made at all, they say as nail biting as it may be, we cannot yet say anything about the release or development of KOTOR III but... you can count on us!

Thanx for the info.

K3 might not come out at all, so 2010 would suffice.

Unfortunately this article you read is supect because this statement is in direct contradiction to Biowares current stance of "working only on their own IP's". ;)

Going along with what RedHawke stated, everything we've heard from BioWare's execs indicates they only plan to work on games for which they own the IP. So what you're saying you've read doesn't match up with what many of us here have read from other sources.

If you could provide the name of the magazine, it's publication date, the page number you read this info on and an exact quote this would allow others to verify your claim. Until then though we can only chalk this up as fan speculation or misinterpretation. :)

No no no, your wrong... i have read it with my own eyes in - Official Australian Xbox 360 Magazine, Issue 09, December 2006, Mass Effect, page 46-52...
That's a start at least. Unfortunately I do not have access to Xbox 360: The Official Australian Xbox Magazine published by Derwent Howard Publishing Pty Ltd as I live in the U.S.A. I can't just head down to the local bookstore and pick up a copy. ;)

Maybe someone that subscribes or has access to this mag can verify this and provide some actual quotage...

Edit: Sorry for going off topic.

I'm not sure Kotor3 will ever come out what with the fiasco of kotor2...

P.s: I checked Teamxbox.com but I couldn't find anything about a Kotor3

I believe KotOR will be part of the next wave of games once the PS3 gets established and the battle between it and the 360 and Wii settle out.

May be a few years, but they'll eventually get back to this series.

I can hear it now,

"The long awaited final chapter to the Old Republic Trilogy..."

(insert hype and trailers using that monotoned narrator)

Must have Mass Effect.

Cygnus Q'ol has the right idea, i can too see it sometime in the future. I just hope BioWare or LucasArts dont just ditch the idea like the good folks at Capcom have done in the past.
