jonathan7
1. Sean Connery 2=. Timmothy Dalton 2=. Daniel Craig 4. Pierce Brosnan 5. George Lazenby (he did get screwed with the worst Bond script ever) 6. The kitchen sink.... 7. Roger Moore Wasnt a fan of Roger Moore's bond, think he was a good actor but thought he made Bond to slapstick! Was a fan of him in the saint and some of his other stuff just didnt like his bond. Bimmerman
I've seen just about all of the Bond films, with an exception here or there. Daniel Craig's good in his debut, but it's too early to judge him I think. I'm tied between Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery, but for the sake of the poll, Sean Connery. He's the original, the one everyone else is judged by.

I agree that George Lazenby got screwed with the script and that his film was a caretaker film. I like the fact that Bond got married in the film. Sabretooth
My favourites would have to be Connery and Craig, both were really good. Brosnan was pretty charming too, but IMO, he spoilt it when the action came.
RedHawke
I liked them all, personally I think the best actor did each movie. Connery rocks, nuff said! He started it all, his Bond had a sadistic wit that was quite fitting for the character. Lazenby was damn good in OHMSS, he was 21 or so when he did that movie, but he was shafted with a poor story plot and bad choice of villan casting... (Telly Sevalas is a brilliant actor, but just didn't pull of the role of Blofeld for me.) he also followed some bad advice and didn't do anymore films, I would have been very interested to see what he could have done with Diamonds are Forever. Moore was following in Connery's footsteps and had big shoes to fill his Bond was also great... (Not that all the movies he was in had the best of stories either, but their 'fun factor' was good, and to me that's what was important.) Dalton was a damn fine Bond as well, far more gritty than Moore was with a touch of that old sadistic wit, it was sad that he didn't have the chance to do more films, but the Cold War ended and Bond went on haitus for a while. Brosnan, what can I say he was 'born' to play Bond, while I have issues with his last couple films because of the 'brand name' advertising, that doesn't detract from his work in them. Now as far as our newest entry, Craig... I haven't seen Casino Royale yet so I will reserve judgement, as I disliked the Book Casino Royale... But Craig is a solid actor who I think will pull off Bond fine.
Cygnus Q'ol
Sean Connery is Bond, James Bond. All others were just trying to keep up. That being said, I did enjoy Moore's and Brosnan's attempts.
Jae Onasi
You know, the funny thing is that even with so many different actors filling the role, when I watch each of the Bond movies, I don't think "Oh, that's Moore/Brosnan/Connery/Dalton/Craig/Lazenby." I see the character and think, "Oh, there's James Bond." In that respect, they all do a good job of bringing the character to life for me.
DrPhil2501
My personal favourite James Bonds are: Pierce Brosman and Roger Moore. But this new guy... I'm still not quite sure! I mean, he did a great job in Casino Royal, but I think he has to do a few more Bond movies to prove himself worthy of the title!
Rabish Bini
Seems like Sean Connery is leading the pack, rightfully so...
Mace MacLeod
Gonna have to go with Sean Connery for this one. Even though my mom always liked him. I mean, she really liked him. Altogether now..."Ewwwwwwwwww.....!!!!"
lukeiamyourdad
Sean Connery is James Bond. QFE. I think most actors did a nice job. Ranking them is hard. I find it funny how some don't want to judge Craig yet because he only made one James Bond but can judge Lazenby. Then again, if I judged Brosnan on Goldeneye alone, he would be closer to the top... Anyway... I chose Connery because he's Bond. He's the one who spanks women after they give him a massage or any other kind of service. Second would be Craig. I think he's the only Bond to be appear naked. And he's a damn fine actor. And with the body of a Greek god. Ahem. Yes. I put Dalton in third place. I really liked his movies and I think people judge him on his looks more then his acting skill. After all, he's, in my opinion, the least sexy Bond. Moore comes in fourth. He had a lot of good movies and a lot of bad ones. He's really the "humorous" Bond which can be quite refreshing sometimes. Brosnan is fifth. He was good and it's unfortunate that I have to put him so low because of most of his Bond movies. Goldeneye was great, it had Sean Bean and Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp and every guy would like to get killed by Xenia. Happy death. The rest were less then stellar. Tomorrow Never Dies had a part in Saigon...which doesn't look like Saigon...at all. I know that it's a bit silly, but as a Vietnamese guy who has roots in Saigon, it does piss me off a bit. The World is Not Enough made no sense. Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist? I realize that when you watch a movie, you must suspend your disbelief but...there's some things that are just impossible. His last movie was the worst Bond in quite a while. Too much CGI... Lazenby is last because he only starred in a single Bond movie. OHMSS is actually a darn good Bond movie, IMO. However, Lazenby is just...not James Bond...
