Darth Groovy
I was a member of Star Wars Insider back in '96 or 97. Stayed a member until about 2000. Not sure why I never renewed...only back then it was not called "hyperspace"...and I didn't have my own computer... it was just a magazine subscription. And for a long time it was the only magazine I subscribed too, other than "Star Wars Collector" which had a very SHORT run, and I was given a refund check when it was cancelled. I picked up a Star Wars Insider today at Border's and forgot how much I loved this magazine. Especially all the behind the scenes coverage of all the movies, articles interviewing new and old cast members. Steve Sandsweet's snappy section where people send him letters and pictures of their old junk and ask him how much it's worth is hillarious to me at times. I just now got off my ass and became I life time member. I honestly do NOT remember why I didn't do this earlier, maybe it was lack of funds or extreme laziness...I honestly do NOT know... Of course I HAD to post a thread to celebrate it. So now I get the magazine in the mail, and get to finally view all the cool extras on http://www.starwars.com. Any other Hyperspace swampies out there?
IG-64
I used to be a Hyperspace member. I had a year's subscription leading up to when Episode 3 came out. After awhile I tended to stay away from some of the features for fear of being spoilerized. However, it was very useful for viewing the Clone Wars cartoons. Currently the only subscription I have is an IGN Insider subscription, which has served me well, and I plan on renewing it as it's only $18 a year (I got it at a discount time). •-BLaCKouT-•
So now I get the magazine in the mail, and get to finally view all the cool extras on http://www.starwars.com. Didn't I hear that the Insider and Hyperspace are splitting? I can't lay my hands on linkage, but they were talking about it on the TFN podcast a couple of weeks ago. Something to do with Titan getting the contract for publishing the Insider, I think. That being said, you should get some nice scoops on the upcoming TV series's's's. Looks like they're finally starting to confirm details now. Edit: Nope, I got that wrong http://www.theforce.net/topstory/story/titan_magazines_to_publish_star_wars_insider_103106.asp Looks like the split is an option for subscribers. Knew I'd heard something
swphreak
I've been an Insider subscriber since before it merged with Hyperspace. It's always a good read for when you're on the crapper. Speaking of which, I should log into Hyperspace and see what's new.
acdcfanbill
Ya I was a subscriber to Insider in the late 90's for a while. We just kind of parted ways with each other, I don't recall why either.
