[WIP] A Temple

There aren't many other modders here I can think of that would be able to pull something like this off.

 

Inyri and oldflash perhaps...

 

It's really difficult to do and takes ages as well.

 

I don't know where Quanon got the patience! :lol:

 

Well yeah, now that Quanon has paved the way, I'm sure others willing to give it a go will have an easier time than Quanon did.

You do need some skill in 3DS Max (or GMax) to get close to something Quanon has produced. It's not like anyone can just start making some new area without any knowledge of how all this works.

True, there's a lot involved, but to be honest, I've had a harder time getting the .uti , .are the whole Kotor file bunch to work then I did on the 3D :p

 

Would it be possible to add a few doors that at this stage can not be opened? If it could be done, the temple can be expanded on at a later time.

 

No, that would make me redo a large part of my Temple, I started this as a crazy idea. So I didn't mind the no doors. Though I'll admit it's biting me in the ass now. :lol:

 

Plus the temple is one big room, adding more stuff would surely "kill" the engine.

 

Should this area be open for anyone to mod and adjust (I don't know what position Quanon takes in this), someone might be willing to put a quest in it, or maybe people will even reskin it and make some new area!

 

I'm not a greedy person, but I would keep the honor for just a few weeks ;)

Once I release the final version, I think I'll let anyone use it as they please.

 

They'll just have to put me on the credit list.

 

Plus other peeps have helped me already.

 

Wich brings me to another great update : DSTONEY bring me the second mini-map for the interieur of the temple !

Plus I've been trying to correct certain textures in both the areas, but as always with this kind of thing , you fix one problem you get new problems...

 

Interieur Temple is now almost perfect, still some minor changes..

Outdoor area is worse, created a whole new plethora of stretched textures...

 

Ugh.

I just had a thought.

 

I think there might be a way to extend the temple.

 

Quanon, if what i can see from the map in your latest post, you could maybe double the size of the temple.

 

How, you might ask.

 

The entrance says 'to shyrack caves', is it not possible to put in another module there?

 

The tomb of Naga Sadow combined with two of the other tombs for the left and right paths, and your temple as the center path.

 

Would this work?

I think that Q is doing this to make a complete new area so i don't think he will be inclined to start using modules of other temples now. Just a thought.

 

Anyway, fantastic work Q. I must say this is one of the most amazing mods I've ever seen. I can't wait to see the finished project and what you have in store for us at a later time.

Lol, actually you pointed me to a "bug" .

 

It must be a wrong waypoint , there's no connection to the Shyrak Caves from the "IN" Temple.

 

Another note to the to do list :p

:lol: You ruthless Quanon! Besides be glad that the mod is here, i mean hello! this is the first ever user created from scratch area - EVER!! That makes this mod entirely amazing & special in itself (not too mention a lot of work for poor Quanon). Good to see the minimaps working Q; with a new Kaurora you might be able to figure out a solution for the camera problems, but wow so much potential with how amazing the BETA is already. Can't wait to see more! ;)

Here's some more ! :p

 

Got some work done today ! Added a bunch of scripts to spawn the enemys, so there's minum Carth/ HK blasting through walls.

 

I consider this the final version of the interieur of the temple, there still some stretched textures on a very few pillars here and there , but alas after trying about everything , they refuse to be corrected ... *even standing on the head didn't help, persuading with cookies didn't help either*

 

Plus my point on quests, dialoge and all, I won't do any for the temple it looks pointless to me really.

 

The whole point of this was just to test out what is possible with new areas and to find out how hard it is to get it done "good" or acceptable visually.

 

Anyway, the Temple will stay a fight pit, with some nice goodies to find.

:D Love The Hilts!! Great Work Quanon.

The temple is spiffy as is, doesn't really need a quest; but i suppose if people want to add one then that's their accord (with you permission of course) ;)

 

Don't worry about the stretched textures, i'm sure magnusll is still tweaking that area; of course with the emitters aswell which is going to make KAurora even more amazing than it already is. Keep up the great work! :thumbsup:

This one is my favourite, has small semplified female busts at the top, a very detailed gold texture... which all gets covered by the PCs hand :headbump:

Though its not all that clear on this render.

Why does all those lightsabers makes me think of Sith sabers?

 

Actually I intended that the 3 left sabers where of lightsiderszzzzz...

And the 2 on the right are DARK SIDE :lol:

 

Though I wasn't content on the Second right spikey dark saber so it got 'deleted'. (One with the blue )

And snakes are kinda evil :p , so it got switched places.

 

Plus the idea was that they represent ancient sabers, where sabers where real pieces of "art" and kinda reflected the personality of the wielder.

 

So they don't look like the average metallic tube with a few bibs and bobs on it, like some of the movie sabers do.

 

Not that they're "ugly" I just tried which I thought is a differant approach on the subject.

I thought it was the most dark one. Except, from the one on the far right. Sith seem to have a fraternal connection with pyramids. :xp:

No, they don't look bad at all. It's just that the Sith always seem to get variants from the "plain metal tube" kind.

But it works so well :p

 

Plus there's a small piece of Giger Art in the big pike :)

To add a dark atmos :D and its kinda spikey.

 

Plus I finished another crazy model, but just the model, last night :
