Sweeney Todd!

Have any of you seen the play or the musical? It's an absolutely hilarious show, but manages to be brutal and intense all at the same time.

All I can say is that Tim Burton was MADE to direct this movie.

And the casting is fantastic. Johhny Depp plus Helena Bonham Carter equals love. :D

And most importantly.... JOHNNY DEPP SINGS!!!

I'm so excited ^_^

I've never seen the stage production, but it is coming to Denver next spring and I am SO there.

As for the movie, I've already made absolute certain that December 21st is devoid of plans.

I cant wait for this to come to Aberdeen but I doubt it's going to be right away if we even get it. But if we do Me and some friends are goin to it.

Yeah, it's a musical and I haven't seen the stage production of it either. But, it was definitely wroth seeing. I enjoyed it even despite the fact that I'm not a fan of musicals in any way, sort, or manner. But, it had Johnny Depp in it. And it was directed by Tim Burton and had quite an exceptional cast.

The film was great, though. It was quite grotesque and gruesome, but it also was quit humourous as well. I'd totally recommend seeing it.

Be warned that the film was shipped with the audio track set to "very loud" (at least that's what the theater manager told me). Good movie. Very dark and tragic and all that, but also painfully loud in several places.

I thought it was absolutely fantastic.

The score was phenomenal, the singing was fantastic, the acting was Oscar-worthy, the artistry of Tim Burton was spot-on and innovative... It was everything I had hoped for.

I really enjoyed it also, but then I've liked every Burton film I've ever seen. :D

The contrast between the musical aspect (usually has happier connotations) and the rather dark nature of the film was interesting. Depp can sing! :p
