Keyan Farlander
"Ender in Exile" by Orsen scott card I'm looking forward to reading that soon. I love the Ender books. I don't feel that great today. Throat is very sore. Figures the one day this year I get sick would be Christmas
Rogue15
i got alot of pants for work from my parents plus one of those gaming chairs, where it plays the audio right at the chair, very cool almost like surround sound. I also got a small blanket with yoda on it. my sister got me a $60 gift card to walmart...i'm uncertain whether to get 2 $30 games or to get a $60 game such as Fable 2 or Gears of War 2. I'll probably just get Fable 2 since i wanted it for a while, just hope my walmart has it. I played Assassin's Creed alot today...it is kind of getting repetitive. i can only imagine what Splinter Cell ConViction is going to be like... edlib
Went over my friends house for dinner, since my family isn't getting together until tomorrow... and they had so much great food that somebody had to eat. Gave him 2 DVDs: The Blues Brothers This Is Spinal Tap Gave his missus: An electric tea kettle. Gave them both a bottle of really nice Merlot. All the gifts seemed to go over very well. She made 2 pots of tea while I was there. (She always used to heat one cup of water for tea at a time in the microwave. Since she hosts so many big dinners, and she almost always serves tea, I thought this might be a great and useful gift.) Dinner was epic. Really great... and tons of it. They'll have leftovers for the rest of the year. They gave me: Rainbow Six: Vegas (And an identical copy for my buddy... funny that. )
Rogue15
well looks like i'll be picking myself a copy of that too in january. I just remembered the 2 holiday pays i get in my next check...think i'll use most if not all of it for games... Gears of War Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga Rainbow Six: Las Vegas (forgot about that, i never got to play it, i take it, that there is co-op?) Mass Effect Lost Odyssey The Orange Box just to name a few lol...
edlib
I also got (yes, i'm just fluffing the post count... so is EVERYONE ELSE! LOL) a Jimi Hendrix and Black Sabbath CD. Hellz yeh! We'll pad the **** out of this thread yet! Which Hendrix and which Sabbath? Rainbow Six: Las Vegas (forgot about that, i never got to play it, i take it, that there is co-op?) 2-4 on Live. Cmdr. Cracken
Electric Ladyland (Eh, it's ok....) and a BS greatest hits from 1970-1978. Never argue good music, and never refuse good artists, even if the albums themselves are only ok. I mena, Hendrix is still god.
edlib
I like Ladyland. "Axis: Bold As Love" is also good. "Are You Experienced" is still the best, however. Ladyland is probably my #2 go-to when I'm in a Jimi mood, though. That's all the Ozzy-era Sabbath, right? Good stuff. I also like a lot of the Dio-era stuff too... at least Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell. But after that: Ppppffffttt. So... the woman I dated a couple of times last month suddenly appeared on Facebook and 'Friend Requested' me tonight. I do not know what to make of this. While there's no hard feelings on this end, I'm also not inclined to take it back up again, either. I accepted the request... warily. We'll just have to see how this plays out... Rogue15
lol good luck with that, ed. just don't try the dating 2 chicks at once thing...i've witnessed some friends/associates of mine try that, and ...i've never seen it end well. think i'll go first thing tomorrow morning into walmart and get that copy of Fable 2. i'll probably have to call and see if they have any left first, better not to waste gas if i don't have to. =\ i was watchin some videos of the game on youtube, and it looks like alot of fun. plus there's a co-op mode now. i hope work will be easy and i can get out of there on time. i'm planning on going out, hopefully to some cool bar or club after work. Cmdr. Cracken
yeah, my parents figured since I'm trying to become a guitarist in some fashion is to support me via the greatest guitarists and metal bands of all time. Yes, a great way to inspire someone who sucks at the guitar (FOR NOW) is to put him next to the greatest guitarist who has ever lived...... Because, ya know, he's going to try to play that sh*t. edlib
lol good luck with that, ed. just don't try the dating 2 chicks at once thing...i've witnessed some friends/associates of mine try that, and ...i've never seen it end well. Not planning on it. Knowing my personal history in this realm: I've never even succeeded in dating ONE woman and have it end well. There's no real reason to even think she's angling to get me back, since she's the one who kinda stopped calling first. It was just a surprise. Of course: I'm not seeing anyone else at the moment either... though I am still trying to keep myself in the attention of the actress I know. However: There's no reason at the moment to believe that's ever going to ever go anywhere either. Could just be a lot of very wishful thinking on my part. ... plus there's a co-op mode now. Oh? Good ta know...
Nitro
2-4 on Live. Count me in! A guy I was buying a bunch of other games from just threw it in with the rest for free after I asked him if it was any good. I've had it for 9 months and it's never actually been inside my Xbox. I also figured out my surround sound situation. I looked at the HTIB options, but a) I needed HDMI switching, and b) I didn't need another DVD player. Most of the HTIBs I looked at Ended up going with a Yamaha 500W receiver and a 5.1 set of Energy's Take Classic speakers. Ran me about $800 CAD after taxes (that's about $650 USD), and got me a system that'll sound good and be easily upgradable as budget permits. I probably could've gotten a 1000W HTIB for that price, but HTIBs generally can't have parts individual replaced or upgraded later, and that was something I wanted the freedom to do down the road. This way I can upgrade pairs of speakers as new funds become available, then upgrade to a 7.1 receiver and be able to use the old speakers for the side channels, etc... The speakers were an online-only deal, so they probably won't get here until the first full week of January, but I'll be going to the local Future Shop tomorrow (everything's closed on Boxing Day here) to see if they've got any of the receivers in stock to try and save myself shipping charges. I'll probably get one of those Logitech Harmony remotes to tie everything together, too. Future Shop's got the 550 (basic model) on sale... I don't need the fancy bells and whistles, I just want to press one button to switch to my Xbox when I'm done watching my Band of Brothers blu-ray. edlib
OK... I'll let you know when it looks like we are going to tackle it. We want to finish World At War first. I played the RS:V training mission last night. It's tough... like most of the Clancy games are. Pretty realistic. The guy I play co-op with is also named Ryan, though... that could get a little confusing over the headsets. The home-theater thing sounds sweet! Pics when it's set up and in place! Rogue15
grr they didnt finish putting freight out yet, so i couldn't get Fable 2. hopefully it's there later today.....if i can't get it today... i'll be upset. not sure if i'll be going out tonight cause of the stupid roads and the stupid freezing rain. edlib
My take from the family "Yankee Swap" was a digital picture keychain. Kinda nifty... though I never carry a keychain. And don't have that many family pictures... Probably give it to my mom or a friend.
K_Kinnison
Christmas is turning lame. Niece showed up... she loved her LED "Blow on/off" candle. I got a box full of cookies. and "two t-shirts in the mail" which more then likely will be a repeat of at least one of the ones I already have. But then again.. .why should I expect otherwise? So if anyone complains about not getting much for Christmas. Try to top 2 books and 4 t-shirts and a box of cookies

edlib
Fell asleep right after last post. Just woke back up, but I'm planning on trying to sleep more now. Kinnison: I got one used video game disk, and a keychain that I'll probably give away. That was my entire Xmas take. But that's twice what I usually get (since I don't actually make any kind of deal of the day, big or otherwise...) so I'm not complaining.
Nitro
Just got back from Future Shop... Holy hell! That place looked like the gorram Bakaara Market. Got my HT receiver, though! Now I just cross my fingers and hope UPS a) actually gets my speakers here in a timely fashion, and b) doesn't leave them on my frakin' doorstep in a snowstorm like they did last winter with $1400 in PC parts I'd ordered (they were even "Signature Required"! How the hell does that happen!?). Fortunately my PC parts supplier has other shipping options, but Future Shop (where the speakers are coming from) only deals with UPS. K_Kinnison
Nitro depending on where you live some areas are okay for "Driver release" most drivers I know when it is something like a computer will try to put it out of sight like in a Garage. Granted you live in Canada, which doesn't have the greatest postal or Parcel system IMHO
