DeadYorick
You forgot about this one that happened here in Ohio. What are these people thinking?! Thats the point. They aren't thinking. They are going with their emotions and once they actually do kill someone they finally think of the consequences and kill themselves
Arcesious
Kid: "I'm going to go kill people because I'm mad at the world." *Kid takes his father's firearm, which is primary used for going on hunting trips* *Kid takes drugs because he is depressed, and goes to a Mall.* *Kid murders a dozen people, and later kills himself in complete insanity* *People like us get pissed off at people who do that.* *We tell kids and people everywhere not to do drugs and try to teach them right from wrong, the kids and teenagers and adults don't listen...* *Everything before this line happens all over again.*
Rev7
I heard about this story in the news. I think that it is very unfortunate that something like this has happened yet another time. Hopefully none of the victims that were shot will die. :\
Da_Man_2423
Another one? I swear, whenever I check the news, there's another school shooting. Now it's being reported that 5 of the victims died.
DarthJebus05
First off, I have nothing against Americans. Has anyone noticed like 90% of the shootings happen in America? America is probably the worst place to live other than the obvious others. Want to come to a place with 1 shooting a year? Come to Australia, safest place on earth. DeadYorick
Come to Canada. It is safe and it has a better climate and more trees then America does. But anyway 90% of shooting related deaths don't happen in America. More likely the middle east since there is a war going on there
mimartin
Come to Canada. It is safe and it has a better climate and more trees then America does. [/Quote] I can deal with crime, cold is another matter all together. Canada is a nice place to go, ski and then get back to the warmth of Texas. Come to Australia, safest place on earth. You're right we walked around downtown Sydney and Melbourne at 3:30 am without any trouble; of course, I have also walked from Central Park to Time Square early in the morning without any trouble. Although I’ll admit, I did not feel as safe in New York. America is pretty safe and I have no fear going to a campus or a mall. It is just sad that people try for fame by suicide and murder. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved.

And the 90% was my estimate. I can deal with crime, cold is another matter all together. Canada is a nice place to go, ski and then get back to the warmth of Texas. Aash Li
There are a lot of school shootings lately There is? This is the first one Ive heard about since that nutcase in Virginia last year. Of course, one is too many, but thats sorta beside the point... Anyway, Im sorry this happened, and I pray the families can get over it as much as they can. And Im glad the shooter saved us the time and trouble it would take to slap him on the wrist (ie put him in jail for life). I will never go to America now that theres been maybe 20 shootins in the past few months? Could you give me some sources? Im not trying to start an arguement here. I honestly want to know... I say this because with the "news" media like it is here in the US, one school shooting gets over-reported so that it ends up sounding like theres a school shooting happening every other week. I say this because with the "news" media like it is here in the US, one school shooting gets over-reported so that it ends up sounding like theres a school shooting happening every other week. I agree with that fully. The media here in the United States of America, IMO, goes a little overboard. In all actuality, there is not an enormous amout of shootings. This, of course, is on average. Yes, lives, IMO a lot of unnecissary lives, have been lost due to these school shootings. But, I don't think that there is a whole lot that we can do to prevent things like this from happening. I say this once again, There is not a whole lot that we can do to prevent things like this from happening. Once someone is determined to do something, they will most likely in the end carry through with their plans. Again, I think that this is a very unfortunate thing. God Bless the victim's families. I certainly wish that these things could be prevented, and immediately stopped.
DarthJebus05
Well, if you read the news sites, there will be a lot more shootings then you would have thought. Also, I go on this other forum which members post almost every single news story they find, thus I find out a lot more things on different news sites. Aash Li
Heresay doesnt count. "I saw an article my friend's cousin's sister's best friend was reading," isnt a credible source. As the trolls on iichan like to say; pics or it didnt happen. Also as we mentioned, "news sites" tend to report the same story every other news site reports. That virginia tech story was so over played Im sure that some foriegner somewhere got the impression that there was a shooting happening every day for a while... >.>
Totenkopf
One thing's for certain, if you watched press coverage all the time you might be forgiven for thinking that America was only obsessed with Nataly Hollaway, Anna Nicole Smith, Brad and Angie, Oj and dozens of other marginal stories. Or even that whole American campuses wer being slaughtered or malls emptied of life. If it bleeds, it leads.......the truth be damned.

El Sitherino
Thats the point. They aren't thinking. They are going with their emotions and once they actually do kill someone they finally think of the consequences and kill themselves Like the assumption there. Ever hear of psychopaths? It's not that they lose the ability to think, it's that their thought pattern is shifted. Anyway, sad news to hear. But I do have to say it's not all that shocking, between the sad social state our country is in to the general idea of interaction in our society, I'm actually surprised there aren't more shootings on a mass scale. There is not a whole lot that we can do to prevent things like this from happening. And this is one of the greatest problems with American society today. No one listens or uses a little effort in putting the pieces together. I'm pretty sure they teach you this in school, before it gets shot up, as critical thinking. There is a hell of a lot that can be done to prevent things like this from happening, just like there are things that can prevent a large majority of suicide cases from happening. And despite beliefs one way or another there are in many times understandable reasons/justifications for actions like these to be taken. Not that I condone the harming of others, it's that people cast out their cries of irrationality without even knowing why this happened in the first place. This goes for suicides and massacres/mass-shootings alike.
