Darth Avlectus
I played it and beat it in both ways. Sucks there is no tanks in it anymore. I sure do like jacking bank securicars and blowing them up to get the TON$ of CA$H they spit out. The rag-doll physics are a REAL nice touch. Almost too real. Though I still cant wrap my brain around going 50 ft UP crashing a motorcycle... I have managed to steal a N.O.O.S.E. enforcer (swat truck) and live. And save. Also, The crimson infernus you get from completing FLorian Cravec's missions--errm Bernie. Sweetness 4 racing. Damn Brucie is hard to impress! So far as Darkoh Brevic...who decided he should die and who decided he should live? He tries to call you (Niko) a hypocrite citing that both you and he have killed people. The difference is, though, Niko has a bit of genuity in his character (as portayed), whereas Brevic sold out his own batallion for getting off easy and getting some drugs. We're not really given much and the rest is implied and up to interpretation. What do you think? Why? Are you really doing him a favor... letting him off easy--putting him out of his misery? OR is he just a pathetic traitor trying to hold on to life as long as he can 'cuz he has no idea what awaits him after death, and fears it? ...yes, I 'whacked' him in the game... And whutever else... PLEEASE! Any psychotic marauding hell raisers out there?
DeadYorick
Lol ever hear about Spoiler tags? GTA IV is still a fairly new game and not everyone has played it yet Anyway I killed Darko and did the Deal Ending. The Deal ending felt the most tragic and actually moved me as a gamer GTA IV was a very good addition to the series. I eagerly await downloadable content and news about the next GTA game. Niko Bellic was a very good protagonist and fairly original considering the unoriginal characters GTA is plauged with. He reminded me of Claude Speed from GTA 3 (My favorite of the series) because of how cold hearted the player can make him. I greatly enjoyed multiplayer in GTA IV and thought it was a very nice touch considering the multiplayer mods for GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas. (All of which had nice multiplayer that IV's was a lot like) It's a good thing that Jack Thompson is already facing perminant disbarment for how much he has annoyed the world. He is worse then Rosh Penin from Jedi Academy

Rabish Bini
Brilliant game, I too, like RakataDark, did the deal ending where Roman dies and was moved by it. And it is about time Jack Thompson got what he deserves, he's don enough damage to the world.

Revan 411
GTA 4 is awesome. I love it. Its The best GTA game in the market. I love the improved next gen engine, the game play is awesome, and most of the time, I just get a rocket launcher and start blowing stuff up for no reason! But, there were some flows, no stealth missions, you can't customize Niko, and that's about it. I might be missing a few more but that's one of the things. SW01
I thought the overall game play was great, with some nice small touches - like smoke coming out of the windows when in a car with Jacob. There were some annoying story points though... No appearance at all by Kenny Petrovic, despite the fact that he is supposed to be the big Mafiya boss in LC (and you killed his son...), and no resolution to the Ray Bulgarin story. (Though he is labelled as deceased in the LCPD records.) Overall, a great game to play - better than most other offerings this year. I liked the greater emphasis on story and character depth this time round. All of them had clear character traits. The friendship angle was good, too. Ascendant_Justice
I loved the game. I was SO GLAD that I didn't notice it was coming out until only a week or so was left. Idk what I would've done if I had to wait for it for a month or something. I did tons of research on it in that one week timeframe. I was pretty addicted to it for my whole playthrough. I loved the character development of Nico and the extra choices and depth put into the game. I did miss the criminal empire feeling of Vice City and San Andreas, but IV instead touched on the American Dream and the people pursuing it, all being excellently presented. I let Darkoh live. I don't even remember why. I don't think I even knew why when I made the decision. I had the intent to kill him even as I drove up to the airport, but then I just didn't. I chose the revenge ending. Like hell was I going to make a "deal" with that ****. I liked Faustin, even if he was a paranoid fool. I was devastated when Kate died though. I really liked her. But I felt better remembering that she wouildn't have wanted Nico to do the deal anyway. I did find the friendships to be a little tedious. I was really into going out and rocking at darts and sucking at pool for the first third of the game, or so. After leaving Broker, though, I really started losing interest in that stuff. Most of the characters don't move with you, and really, by the time you're in Alderney, who wants to drive alllllll the way back to BOABO just to pick up Brucie? The activities themselves can get a little boring after a while too. The casual conversations were spectacularly implemented, though. I can't believe how many of them they packed into the game, whilst still keeping them interesting. I can't understand Lil Jacob though. Lots of pausing and looking at the scripts for him. The hardest mission for me was Snow Storm. Those NOOSE agents were slaughtering me like crazy. I admit, I looked up a guide for an escape route. My favorite mission was probably Three Leaf Clover, surprise. It was packed full of action and overall just felt like a complete street war. It was really epic for me toward the end because I was so close to dying the entire time in the subway. I couldn't believe I made it through that. One shot to the toe could have killed me in that station. I remember running down the tunnel, shooting back at all the NOOSE agents behind us and they somehow just couldn't connect with that final deathblow. That was epic. I initially thought the action scenes would have had a little more cinematic presentation, though, probably because of watching all the trailers that had scenes from that mission. Edit: Oh, another thing that really bugs me: You can't do activities in Free Mode. I remember before the release hearing the Liberty City in Free Mode was NOT dumbed down at all and was the exact same as singleplayer GTA sans story. That really gave me the impression that you could go bowling with friends or shoot some pool, or maybe even watch one of those shows. I was seriously bummed when I realized there was really nothing to do in Free Mode. Now we've been reduced to jumping off buildings into rotary blades. Also, does anyone have a 100% understanding of the star system in this game? I pretty much get what goes on from 1-4 stars, but after that I'm clueless as to what the difference is other than more guys and shooting out of windows. I still do not understand when the FIB is supposed to show up.
SW01
It seems that the 4/5 star levels are very similar - apparently the only difference is that the FIB closes bridges instead of police/NOoSE. It seems that the FIB starts pursuing you at 6 stars - no army this time. I've found it near impossible to survive this rating for long enough to steal one of their cars, though... And, I executed Darko without a second thought. I'm nasty that way! Also, Revenge option every time. Never liked Kate anyway...I was disappointed that you didn't get a nice mansion as in VC, and the Alderney safehouse was awful. I just stay in Algonquin! GeneralPloKoon
I love GTA IV, but i need to get the disc resurfaced, it won't read on my 360!!! Amazing characters, amazing story, amazing missions, and an amazing multiplayer.

It seems that the FIB starts pursuing you at 6 stars - no army this time. I've found it near impossible to survive this rating for long enough to steal one of their cars, though... That would seem logical, but I've seen the FIB at as low as four stars. I also find NOOSE to be a bit more effective than the FIB. I'm certainly more afraid of the former. I don't understand when NOOSE Patriots (which, oddly enough, aren't even used by NOOSE) are supposed to show up either. I know they can pop up at three stars but I don't get what else determines if/when they appear, just like the FIB.
Darth Avlectus
Hey y'all. Yeah, I found the friendship things to be tedious too. The relationship thing...try going out with more than one girl after you get the availability for it... Tho I would try to hold off until Algonquin island is available... They have perks...the ones you meet online. For those trying to figure KateMcReary out...she drops the F-bomb on you so as a girlfriend, with no perks she's essentially worthless in the game...she only serves as a plot device. (lisen to me, I sound like such a womanizer) You can't get anywhere with her. It's funny to make them jealous and all stalker like over you. I didn't know this but you apparently can blow away friends and girlfriends and for all intents and purposes kill them...yet they still come back. --I have not tried burning my birdges with friends in the game. However I did piss off the gun merchant in Broker...thankfully I didn't save cuz he only gives you one chance. Screw it up and don't ever come back unless you are looking to fight with serious guns. Chinatown is the worst one. You piss them off by: entering with a wanted level, or at least hanging around the entrance firing off a gun too rapidly or too many times inside the store--he'll warn you assaulting the merchant guy Michelle...figured there was a reason she was so damn easy to please from the get-go and how she just sinks right into you from stranger to date...to lover......she's working undercover for the U.L. Paper... I love blowing up the securicars cuz of all the nice cash you get. No tanks sux. Kill all the pigeons--instead of collecting "special packages" and you unlock the anihlator copter... grab at the airport. It's hard to do, but in bohan I have a route and recipie planned out for any time I want to steal a N.O.O.S.E. squad van...though it is HARD to do, let alone survive. I did it a few times and parked them in the player parking spots successfully...bummer you don't get all sorts of garages to park in BTW. The trick is to escalate it to 4 stars and keep it there. Once you have your prize, try to get it to safety before it gets blown up and try to escape afterwards. I have never survived 5 stars yet--and I never take arrests. The only time I escaped the max 6 stars is during the UL paper mission to obtain the helicopter...accidentally flying over the border to Alderny zone...I think I only escaped because it was a mission and copters were too far away. To unlock one man gang achievement... 6 stars... hold up in a hospital with sizeable ammo and some armor to start with...drink sodas and grab medpacks to survive. Blow them all away and don't stop...I didn't last long trying to escape that chased down by like 10 anihlators circling the bulding. They just laa lauch missiles and use the guns...they figure you must be too dangerous to fight honorably so they just kill you any way they can... DeadYorick
Can you please use spoiler tags? Not everyone has played the game Rockstar games had to make a lot of sacrifices inorder to have the game fit on one disk and match the deadline. That was the reason why a lot of San Andreas elements were cut out in pre production (I think that is what it is called for games). The friendship portion I felt was by far one of the most noticeable inclusions to the game besides the cellular phone. After beating San Andreas I always wondered why CJ said he was "Fittin to hit the block" He leaves the house and then instantly all connections to all of his friends are cut. So all you have left to do is all the sandbox stuff in case you forgot to do it. But being able to actually meet ingame characters and talk to them and such was a very good idea. Actually making it look like the story is still continuing. However I wished that Rockstar could have at least unlocked the doors to all the mission related buildings. Achilles
One Man Army was pretty freakin' easy. As soon as the game starts, just try to cross the Brooklyn Bridge (forget the GTA equivalent name). You'll get a bunch of stars, but cops can't get to you that well. Make a run for one of the pillars, go down a floor, and wait patiently for the 5 minutes to pass. No spoilers so no tags.
Ascendant_Justice
I personally find the easiest place to fight/lose police is in the subways :\. That's where I got my One Man Army achievement, as well as Walk Free. All you have to do for either is head into the main part of a station, take cover behind one of the last support columns (closest to the rail tunnels). The police don't seem to be smart enough to come down the stairs on the other side most of the time, nor do they bother flanking you in any other way, so you have a completely linear shot most of the time. As soon as you want to get away all you have to do is make a quick jump down onto the rails and bolt down the tunnel. Again, the police generally aren't smart enough to follow you in. I'm really hoping for a patch that enhances their AI a bit. Subways make combating the police a bit too unbalanced to your favor. I don't think I've ever seriously let myself get arrested. If I'm just screwing around for a bit, I'll sometimes let the cops take me in just to get a fresh start quickly, but as far as serious gameplay goes, if the police are onto me, they either kill me, or I get away. There's really no point to getting arrested in this game. It's literally more beneficial to just let yourself get "killed". While the police confiscate all your weapons and take a bribe, hospitals only take the medical costs and then you're off on your merry way, as much of a walking armory as you were pre-death. That's something I didn't like at all in this GTA. Finding out you would be able to break away from an active arrest made me think getting arrested was favorable to dying. I think that if Niko was being arrested he would rather book it then let some cop handcuff him Because becoming the most wanted man in America, getting the FIB, National Guard and what-not and hiding rocket launchers in your pants is really realistic Yeah, I do agree with you, Niko wouldn't like being arrested, and the game is VERY realistic, compared to other stuff which claims to be realistic... SW01
Like others, I never allow Niko to get arrested - I either fight to the death (which is surprisingly good fun) or run like hell for the nearest save point. Only on the high wanted levels, of course. On its realism, I was very impressed with it. One of the things I loved the most was the ragdoll physics - for instance when you make a kill behind an open car door, they slump down, rather than falling in a predetermined way as in previous games. Seems to be a cue borrowed from Hitman, and borrowed by TFU! I think it was wise for the developers to leave some of SA's features out of this release, and make do with a few new ones (the friendship dynamic, the increased use of the mobile phone, bullet holes where you shoot, thse sorts of things.) This way, they can build up the SA features in new releases. A few things I missed though - the car customisation. Not because I went for the ridiculous wheels and whatnot, it was just better choosing the colour of your car; the custom hairstyles, though I was happy to sacrifice this for far superior character models; purchasing property and getting money from businesses. That really got to me, as it had been a part of VC, SA, and VCS. For the future releases, I'm hoping for these things to be restored, maybe with additions such as Hitman-style customisable weapons? A development of the alternate storyline bit?

Rabish Bini
The one thing I don't like is no chainsaws/swords and the like, and when you fall from REALLY high up, you don't splatter, you just hit the ground and die, a bit unrealistic :/
DeadYorick
Because becoming the most wanted man in America, getting the FIB, National Guard and what-not and hiding rocket launchers in your pants is really realistic Yeah. The entire reason why they didn't include tanks or planes was to conserve realism. Since why would a huge city like Liberty send a tank in to kill 1 man? But it is still a game so there are limits under how realistic it could be. If it was extremely realistic we would see Niko Bellic getting lethal injection for getting a 6 star wanted level and get caught. The only major pet peeve I have with it is they didn't include a parachute ingame. It is very annoying to jump from an exploding helecopter and find your above a city The one thing I don't like is no chainsaws/swords and the like, and when you fall from REALLY high up, you don't splatter, you just hit the ground and die, a bit unrealistic :/ All the "silly weapons" were removed to conserve disk space and the partial realism they had in mind for this game. Imagine walking around holding a chainsaw? The police would most likely arrest you for doing that. Now imagine carrying a minigun and then switching it in a split second to another weapon. What Rockstar attempted to do was keep the arsenal as small and realistic as possible Dying from really high up possibly wasn't Rockstar's biggest focus. I think they may have just gotten a bit lazy one day and decided to not include any glossy effect if you died from falling

Hmm, it would make sense about the "silly weapons", but I still would've liked dismembering peoples heads with a katana like in Vice City.
Admiral Buttercrust
Beaten it twice but Is Pegorino REALLY a good idea for a boss? I mean cmon, he's just him, if you know what I mean. Dimitri seems more sensible as a final boss, listing off the things he did: He betrayed his best friend He kidnapped Roman He killed everyone he needed to to get everything He tried to murder Niko countless times Whats the Peg done? All he did is kill Kate. To me I think Roman dying is how it should be making it alot more emotional at the end. Plus, it seemed so rushed near the end.Darko died/lived,five minutes after the Peg gives you deal and Roman gives you revenge, choose one, do it, then three minutes after Roman calls you and tells you to get ready for the wedding, and you do, and Kate/Roman die. Then it's sleepy time. Then LJ texts you to get weapons, six minutes after he found the guys, Peg dies by Dimitri, which makes it seem like horse **** when he tries to kill you if you take down Dimitri. Then Niko fights Dimitri's men while Jacob gets an Annihlator that someone just left lying around (also seems like bull****) (Part 2 of rant coming. ) Part 2 of rant Anyway we get to the Statue in a wounded Annihlator, Shoot Dimitri, and get a cutscene where Niko DOESN'T shoot DR down, so I personally think DR died of blood loss. then Niko mourns Roman, then the credits come and the Janitors must do VERY quick work, as they already took DR's body, and here's a question, where the h*ll is the chopper? But anyway you get three calls which seems odd, it seemed like Roman had alot of friends. But if you choose Peg or Dimitri, it seems Nobody can remember Kate or Roman, seeing as how they never make a reference to him/her EVER AGAIN. \ / 0 0 ___ I miss and practically loved Roman as if he were real and family. But thats all of the rant thingy.
