Rabish Bini
Obviously not, but what do you have against double-bladers? I can see why you'd hate any other sabers, as do I, but what's wrong with double-bladers?
Ctrl Alt Del
The real problem is that the idealizers of thos sabers don't seem like they know when to stop. If this escalates, it all might end looking like Batman's devices.
Darca Lar
Sharrak, you do not 'cauterize' yourself. You cut yourself, and then the lightsaber cauterizes the wound. You're writing like Paolini. Sorry, that was a little harsh. At any rate, at least Lightknuckles you wouldn't be in as much danger from your own weapon, it at least makes logical sense. I think it'd be a bad idea, but then, I'd be perfectly happy if they removed Double-Bladed. I certainly don't want to see any more stupid Lightsaber types added, next thing you know they'll make a Chainlightsaber or a gun that shoots lightsabers. A chainsaber? Seriously? As for the gun that shoots lightsabers, I believe they call that a blaster. You can hurt yourself with any weapon, all you'd need is proper training. The double-bladed is unique in the sense that most wouldn't know how to defend against it, same goes for the lightwhip. They're both unorthodox. Blix
The standard lightsaber archetype works fine for me anyway
Corinthian
Unorthodox weapons are effective only because they're unorthodox.
Rabish Bini
Unorthodox weapons are effective only because they're unorthodox. And that doesn't make them good, but I wouldn't really call a bouble-blader unorthodox
Corinthian
Sadly, you'd be wrong, then. Double-Bladed Lightsabers are actually extremely unorthodox within canon.
The Betrayer
The Lightwhip is actually a pretty good idea, IMO. It was used by Silri in SW:EAW FOC.

That still didn't answer my question anyway. What do you have against the double-blader?
Yar-El
Does it really mater? Lightsabers are lightsabers. The size and shape of the lightsaber are not important. It is how you use it.
Lance Monance
Unorthodox weapons are effective only because they're unorthodox. I'd say them being unorthodox makes them more effective, but that doesn't have anything to do with their inherent effectiveness.
GeneralPloKoon
The light-"staffs"? In TFU would be kinda cool, i've never seen those before. And they seem that they would be ancient weapons.
Corinthian
What I have against Double-Bladeds is that they're nothing new. I'm sick of people going "Lightsabers are cool, so you know what we'll do? We'll duct-tape two of them together at the bottom. Or we'll duct-tape a small one to a large one at a fourty-five degree angle. Or god help us, we'll make the blade flexible!" I mean, dear god, I don't mind it when it's rare. If Exar Kun and Darth Maul were the only examples of Double-Bladed wielders I wouldn't be bothered, but geez, you can't go five feet without stumbling over guys who both dual-wield sabers and use Saberstaffs. If you don't want to use the classic weapon, how about you use something new?
Ctrl Alt Del
If you don't want to use the classic weapon, how about you use something new? Because most of these new sabers designs suffer relentless opposition? I mean, the double-bladed sabers have become known even to fans who restrict themselves to the movies. It's the safest bet. Corinthian
Not what I meant. What I meant was, why don't you use something other than a Lightsaber?
Darth Eclipse
I think they should have tonfa lightsabers, both of the ones in the poll, and lightsaber staffs.
Ctrl Alt Del
Not what I meant. What I meant was, why don't you use something other than a Lightsaber? I think it's more or less the same reason as before. People chose what's safer to bet on. Lightsabers are a symbol of the Jedi, and Star Wars for that matter. Endorenna
Not what I meant. What I meant was, why don't you use something other than a Lightsaber? Because lightsabers are far more powerful than your average sword. Heck, outside of Kotor, a lightsaber will cut through an average sword! And they deflect blaster bolts, and they melt doors, and they can only be used effectively by Force-sensitive people, and they look cool (though the Jedi won't admit that's why they use them)...
