edlib
Played some ODST last night. Yup... it's a Halo game, all right. Pretty good... though no real surprises. A bit more like Halo 1 in the fact that you have to look for med packs to really get your health back. It's freezing around here this morning. Snowed around here (though not in my town) yesterday. Bah! M. is acting in a play tonight. I'm not working, so I guess I'll go check it out. Seems to be the only way I'm ever going to get to see her anymore. Oh well... Rogue15
didn't go running after all...my dad kinda woke me up while getting ready for work and it was like 10 minutes before my alarm, so i shut my alarm off cause i didn't feel like hearing it go off, and then i fell back asleep thinking 10 minutes of sleep isn't going to hurt, woke up too late to be able to get to the track and back to get ready for work. my feet do need the extra day of rest. going to definitely get out there tomorrow. Do I need to know the story from the other games?
edlib
Yeah... it would be OK. I think if I were to start from ground zero, I'd just go with Halo 3, though. It must be a lot cheaper than this one at this point, (esp. if used...) and the gameplay is almost identical. Most of my friends only played 3, and they had no problems picking up on the story. But yeah: You could grab this one and just play without really knowing anything about what's going on. You drop into a warzone, and get separated from your squad. You then have to shoot your way through the city and find what happened to them. It kinda "stands alone" in that regard.
Zargon
I dislike the campaign on ODST. the walking around doing jack and **** bothers the piss out of me

Wildstar
Can I legally say that I had "a blast of epic proportions" at my class reunion the other night?
Keyan Farlander
I don't know... Everyone always says the 360 is the platform of the FPS, but I just can't find one that interests me. Can't wait for the Perfect Dark on XBLA, but...I've already played that game. I want a new FPS, dang it.
Zargon
the PC is still the home of the FPS. anyone who says otherwise is a nub or a tard....... keyboard + mouse = the winnAr!

Yes... but now that I own a console, I do want decent games for it. And I really have no interest anymore in upgrading my PC every couple of years just to keep up with the demands of gaming. K_Kinnison
Been practicing on the Ice for curling almost every day after work. Was practicing while watching the Packers-Lions game. Kind of nice that the TV brodcast is 5 seconds behind the Radio broadcast. When a big play happened I was able to look up at the TV and see it happen. My Girlfriend has been hinting and looking forward to more intimate time with me. It is nice that or relationship is so much more then intimacy. Keyan Farlander
And I really have no interest anymore in upgrading my PC every couple of years just to keep up with the demands of gaming. That's part of it with me. I used to be all into that, but I just don't have the time or energy to keep up with it anymore. I will not upgrade my computer for anything less than a new X-Wing or Jedi Knight game. But the other part of it is that, while the mouse + keyboard combination is undoubtedly superior for the FPS, there is a certain...I don't know...sub-genre, of FPS that was designed for and meant to be played on consoles, such as Perfect Dark and TimeSplitters 2, two of my favorites. And it works very well when it is part of the initial concept. I think that is why I find games that were deigned for PC or both not all that great on consoles. You can just tell that it was meant for a console.

Cmdr. Cracken
Keyboard and Mouse=Superior control scheme. No doubt, end of story. But all my friends have an Xbox 360 so to play I need... a 360. Meh, looks just as good as my PC.
edlib
Crack: I now have a computer with a webcam. (My new work MacBook Pro...) I'm not sure how we could schedule online time... but if you still want those geetar lessons. I now have the gear to make it happen. Guess that means that I gotta remember to start my chat programs once in a while again... Saw M.'s play. Heavy stuff. She played several women involved in the human trafficking of children in Cambodia. I think she did a good job in the roles... the audience hated her afterwards. The whole night was pretty heavy: A scene reading from a play about slavery in America. A spoken word piece about a girl who suffered sexual abuse from all the male adults in her life. The play about the child slavery (which, inevitably led to forced child prostitution as well...) And another short play about politics and race-relations in the black community. Yikes. Not exactly a laugh fest. (Really well done though.) Took her out to dinner afterwards. Another good time.

Cmdr. Cracken
Ed: I has no webcam. ;_; Used to but I think it got lost in the shuffle. I also need a better mic to pick up the amp. Ike: Nope, sorry!
Rogue15
I woke got out to the track this morning and ran the 2 miles in 17 minutes, 39 seconds. It really feels like I'm making progress. I basically cut 47 seconds off my test record. and 16 seconds off of my last record. got my dad a new computer for his birthday since the old one was getting too slow (my parents paid 2,000 for it about 10 years ago, nothing is really wrong with it it just needs more ram) he's very happy with it.
