Well, it's happening again, except this time, taking the harddrive out doesn't help. Is there anything I can do other than send it in?

Edit: Fixed it by closing the tray with nothing in it, then putting something in. Is it normal for the solutions to this sort of problem to be really abstract?

Well, I had a similar problem with a 360 recently. It's most likely caused by the fact that the laser reader has either broken or fallen out of place somehow. It just goes in, reads it, but never plays the game, just telling you to open the tray. It happens often enough, just because 360s are shoddily built, and for whatever reason, damage like this doesn't cause red rings, at least not in my case. I'd be willing to bet it'll happen again, and what you're doing to fix it is temporary at best, so I'd send it in for repairs if it's been more than a month since you bought the console, because stores don't take them back after that. Good news is, you won't have to pay the 150 bucks to get it fixed since you have the supplied 1-year warranty.

For some reason that made me think of this...

Yea they don't really look that much similar, but one commonality they share is the fact that in the end they both don't work :xp:

On a semi-related note, if I somehow find one of my Xbox 360 game discs in my Wii, will there be any damage to either? Funny thing is, I don't remember putting it in there.

Just don't try your credit card in there.

Wow :ugh:

I have yet to get the Red Ring of Death, but my friend recently did on his 2 year old 20GB Xbox 360. I personally have the 60GB...but anyways I am playing a game of Nazi Zombies on Call of Duty WaW, and one of my friends that I was playing with said that his disc was not working. So he got off and put peanut butter on it...what an idiot, but then again when he got the Red Ring of Death he put his Xbox in the freezer over night before sending it back to Microsoft. He then was sent an new console....

Geez
