Sleheyron Demo

Sithspecter

Recommended Posts

Well, this sort of marks history in being the first mod release for Sleheyron-RP, even if it is only a demo.

Anyway, this mod lets you preview the landing area module of Sleheyron. It includes the dock manager, Rhendi, who will play a large role in Sleheyron, and his dialog, plus a few other NPC's. Also included is the corresponding slot on the galaxy map and the proper name and description.

The link will be posted from KotOR Files soon, so you can download it as soon as it is accepted.

Copy of the readme:

==========================================
A KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC MODIFICATION
==========================================

TITLE: Sleheyron Demo
AUTHORS: Sithspecter, Dan Loto, Marius Fett
E-MAIL: sithspecter@hotmail.com
WEBSITE: www.sleheyron-rp.proboards.com

CREDITS:Stoffe for TSL Patcher, DSTONEY42000 for the Minimap, and

Malpense for Rhendi's Dialog.

Also, special thanks goes to SithRevan for the work he did with

restoring KotOR: we dedicate this mod to him, and may he rest in

peace.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:Drag the Sleheyron Demo folder into your

documents or another folder, then run Sleheyron Demo, and follow

the on-screen instructions.

DESCRIPTION: This is a playable demo for the upcoming Sleheyron

Restoration Mod. It includes a newly modeled area and a slot on the

galaxy map. I reccomend to use this mod with a clean override

folder. Note that this is just a demo, so there may be some bugs.

If you find bugs, please go to our website and private message

myself or one of the other team members and report the bug. Please

do not report bugs if you do not have a clean override folder.

To get to Sleheyron, simply click on the Sleheyron planet icon, and

to Sleheyron you shall go.

BUGS: Sometimes, when exiting the Ebon Hawk for the first time, the

dialog with Rhendi does not trigger. If it does not, simply click

on him to start the dialog. Another slight bug is that sometimes

Rhendi or the Gamorrean Guards disappear before reaching the door,

due to the lack of a .pth file. Also, if you use a modding utility

or Star Admiral's Open Door Armband to open the Sleheyron door, a

loading screen will appear, and the game will crash. This is

because KotOR is trying to reach a module that doesn't exist in the

demo.

Also, if you use another mod that edits the galaxy map, the mods

will not be compatible.

UNINSTALLATION: Delete all the files included in the tslpatchdata

folder from your override folder, and delete liv_m99ab.mod from

your modules folder. Then, go to the backup folder that has been

created upon installation, and copy all the files and drop them in

your override folder.

NOTE: There is still room on K1RP for another couple of members or

so. If you want to join, see the application thread at our forum

Fantastic work, sithspecter. I have yet to try this out but it'll be a priority in my next playthrough. Btw, I love how you've added some grime and a smoking hole in one of the buildings. Makes it feel much more realistic.

Can't wait for the full product. :D

I liked that too, it looks great ingame.

Nice job SS, always like seeing my dialoge ingame :) If you still need some help with dialoge writing, I'd be happy to help, I've dropped off the map a bit but I've got some time before I start uni in which to write some more if you're interested.

You did a excellent job:D

It's probably the color scheme, Blix - as the color scheme of Sleheyron is similar to M4-78 - not including the Archon rooms and the radiation filled areas, of course. M4-78 is more angular and most definitely filled with droids. Sleheyron has round buildings and - I'm guessing - going to populated by a slew of aliens, most notably Hutts and Twi'leks.

I'm trying to recall if they also originally shared the same sky-box. (It's been a while since I saw the original sky-box on M4-78.)

They are the same skybox, M4-78's were a little fuzzier though. I guess for the contaminated look.

Lets gives this a spin, very curious to see you're work up close.

Edit: Did a very quick test run, I'm going to give you my thoughts SS, I guess you'dd like to get some feedback ;)

- Its empty, I know its demo, but IMO you should go for a well balanced... euh balance between placeables and modeled fill in crap.

Things like cranes, somewhat bigger containers, other wacko contraptions... that look industrial.

I didn't do this myself in my first maps, you'll see that when you play BoS: SR, no doubt.

Used this for the Scrapyard games.

- The boxes you've put in there are to straight, its to neat for a dumb torn down place like Sleheyron, give them some twists, make it look like

their stacked by real lazy workers, more like thrown on each other.

- Get some 3D buildings of various sizes in the background, it'll give more depth and the feeling you're in a big city.

Still thats what I would change; 2cent.

Most of the things you got it ;)

You followed biowares vision truethfully, something I'dd never do, far to cocky as I

like to my own vision.

Good luck with the project, its nice to have some good compition to spark the modding enthousiasme again in me :)
