Change those batteries in your 'special personal device'

Your personal smoke and carbon monoxide detectors! What were you thinking I meant you naughty-minded people? :xp:

Seriously, the change to and from Daylight savings is a good time to change the batteries in your smoke and CO detectors. Please do it today. I've been reading too many stories lately of people dying in fires, and they had smoke detectors that either didn't work or had no batteries.

If you don't have a smoke detector, you can find them cheap at most major retailers. If you can't afford one, please contact your local fire department (use the local non-emergency number, not the 911/emergency number, please!!). Some departments will give them away free to people who can't afford to buy them.

I believe these smoke detectors in here are wired into the house. Don't think I've ever changed the batteries. It still goes off once in awhile. Usually due to dust buildup.

I'd get one that runs on batteries anyway--if you have a power outage, you're screwed on that.

@Hall--I think you've reached sewer-mind there, man.

@Qliveur--Fleshlight? Does it come with multi-colored filters to match our skin? :xp:

@TSR--you are definitely a man who knows how to 'be prepared for anything'.
