GeneralPloKoon Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 http://news.toonzone.net/articles/30942/disney-to-acquire-marvel-entertainment-in-4-billion-stock-and-cash-deal Oh noes! That is an odd twist!
DarthAve Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 If I am promised a picture with Kitty Pryde from X-Men, and Marie from Aristocats at the same time, I will be reconsidering the choir trip to Disneyland this Christmas. =|
Samuel Dravis Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Disney also owns Miramax, who released Pulp Fiction. I'm not really worried about Disney making Marvel do kiddie stuff; that's what the Disney brand is for. I imagine Marvel will be able to do much like it has been doing, except that maybe the movies will be a little better.
GeneralPloKoon Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 Yeah I dont think anything will change too much, Marvel will continue what they're doing and Disney will make a huge profit in the process.
Darth Avlectus Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Well I'll **** in a bucket. That sucks. I certainly hope it won't make marvel into an ultra kiddish outlet. I'd say get your comics now while they don't bite, just in case. Still I do wonder what changes we'll see at the disneys. Curiously, will those other theme parks using marvel characters still use them or no? I can see a positive either way for disney: Allow your competitors to keep using the characters and you get a slice of the profits. Don't allow your competitors to use the characters anymore and you wreck their profits. I can't be too sure. What do you guys think will happen?
Totenkopf Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Gay superheroes.........not that there's anything wrong with thatt. Seriously, I'd adopt a wait and see on this.
BongoBob Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Kingdom Hearts III: You, Goofy, Donald, and Deadpool.
GeneralPloKoon Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 He is some pros and cons I found from a fan's perspective. http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/mwop/moviefile/2009/08/disney-buys-marvel-the-pros-an.php
