Would Yoda be instantly more powerful than he ever was if he...

I'd rather not go dark for the simple fact that it has the tendency to destroy your skin or have you end up dead. Or both.

Though, it has to be said, Dark Siders dress themselves more stylishly:

"Yes, Jacen Solo. Going for the galactic record for the fastest plunge into bloody anarchy and the most stylish black outfit."

―Admiral Natasi Daala, to Gilad Pellaeon, about Jacen Solo[src]

So do those who join the light side, irrelevant point.

While most Dark Siders seem to just get killed more easily (Who the heck taught them to fight!?!!?) It seems that the Light Side was decimated by the clones. Ergo, both sides suck.

Grey Jedi, FTW!

Of course now you can use force lightning no matter what side you're on' date=' so long as you don't call it that.[/quote']

Electric Judgment/Emerald Lightning

You're joking right?

Yup. Yet more idiocy that we have the EU to thank for. For sheer stupidity, however, the giant, green, furry, floating sperm have yet to be topped. :dozey:

I'd trust Yoda over GL :xp:

I'd trust Palpy over GL at this point. :p

Lucas is good at contradicting his own storytelling,

"I'll invent a fictional universe, create a fictional Religion and mystic Power, create a fictional Wise Master and have him say The Darkside isn't Stronger, Make the Lightside prevail thus proving this... Then say the opposite in a DVD commentary, contradicting the story for no other reason than, Because I am Capo Don Lucas"

Too be fair, that was a character's opinion which are still true "from a certain point of view." :)

Theoretically if you put a darksider into a closed environment where there is nothing to hate, nothing to fear, nothing to get angry about, nothing but sweet little kittens and icecream, he'd have no power.

Put a Jedi in the same environment and he is at peace, at his most powerful.

So therefore requiring conflict makes the darksiders dependent. Their power isn't their own, but entirely dependent on environment. That alone makes them weak and predictable.

A powerful darksider doesn't necessarily cause terrible conflict, he absolutely requires it.

So what if people just decided not to feed him. He'd have to resort to frustration for power, turn inward, cannibalise his own body.

Darksiders need a power source to live off, they're parasitic. Jedi don't. I think that's what makes them weaker.

For example a darkside Yoda is compelled to destroy the very thing he requires by introducing conflict and feeding off it. Eventually this tribe defeats that tribe and he has to introduce yet more conflict.

A Jedi Yoda just enjoys himself and is as powerful any day of the week as another. His persistance can defeat the darksider, whom eventually has a moment of weakness, a time where there is not enough conflict to thrive on, too many disappointments overtake rage and leave only emptiness, there is nothing to be fear, too many distractions keep him from being easily angered. Yoda is still just as powerful on this day as he was any other time, that's the day he defeats Palpatine. Not just after Palpatine had faced off against the Council and made his newest pupil, but when the dude is just tired and worn out and not really angry about or scared of anything.

Sounds really interesting...

But balance must be kept. If Yoda turned to the dark side, there would be another light sider to stop him. One can't exist without the other... Love & Hate, Dark & Light, etc.
