Yes, ladies, gentlemen, both, other, and none, it's that time of the year again, and while Pavlos can't be here tonight owing to a tragic surfeit of frogs, it gives me great pleasure to announce to you tonight the StarWarsKnights.com 2009 Grub of the Year Competition!

The nominations have now closed, and boy, what a line-up do we have for you! After nearly seven years, the KotOR modding community is still going strong, that's for sure! In the TSL section, the 2009 entrants are:

Can't see your nomination? Probably because you didn't follow the nomination rubrics correctly. We used to have an abbreviation when I was a kid at school - RTFQ. It stood for Read the Frakking Question.

None of the rules specify the MoTY mod must be totally serious. If people want epic lighthearted shenanigans mod for once, that's what they'll get, if the voting will say so.

 

It just shows DI knows what buttons to push to get community going.

I nominated Fabulous Robes of Darth Sex the M;an)d'a(lo+r because I have not played TSL this year without them. It had nothing to do with DI getting me to nominate them. The only communication I had with him about the subject was to get his permission before nominating his mod.

I voted for them because they are funny. Humor is something sorely lacking in our mods, something I eventually tend to rectify in a small way.... where it will be shared is another story

 

Really, I voted for it because I like it, I laugh at the name every time I see it, and other mods will do just fine on their own - I doubt I have endangered anyone's righteous victory by voting with my funny bone.

Well said! I would be overjoyed if modders started making satirical or spoofified mods. I once had the idea of making a Lucasforums TC: essentially creating a module or a large sidequest with various new characters, all representing both famous and infamous kotor modders.

Honestly, after I finish my next serious playthrough, I'm going to try out those robes just for the fun of it. I am wondering when DI will grace us with the Spectacular Lightsaber of Darth Sex the M;an)d'a(lo+r.

 

In any event, my top three:

 

TSLRCM - For the obvious reason of being the first downloadable complete restoration of TSL.

Full Force Mod - Most balanced and advanced Force Power mod, well integrated into the game.

Enhanced Lightning - Unparalleled retexture.

Again, a really hard pick. But I do have to say the the TSLRCM is on top. It would have been even more difficult to choose between the Enhanced Lightning and the Hood mod should the TSLRCM had not been there.
