Moron crashes plane into office building that housed among other things offices for the Internal Revenue Services.

Austin American Satesman

Austin American Statesman -2

First off the Internal Revenue Service did not cause any of his problems. The Internal Revenue Service is merely a collection agency. Tax laws are written by Congress and the Internal Revenue Service merely enforces the tax codes set forth by Congress. The innocent people he killed and attempt to kill had nothing to do with his problems. Obliviously Mr. Moron had no common sense when it came to finances. (Before someone say OMG OBAMA, read the letter. His problems are from the 80s and 90s.)

Second I find it in extreme bad taste that either side of the political aisle is trying to affiliate this guy with the other side. He was a deranged individual that had strange ideology on both sides of the political spectrum. He also had a problem common to many in this country; he refused to blame himself for his own mistakes. It is easier to blame others for problems we caused on ourselves.

So what do you think, did Mr. Stack strike a blow for the working man or was he just a terribly mentally ill moron that unfortunately had a plane?

I think it is pretty clear what I think of the idiot.

For those that like a little good news from your news.

He was a terrorist, and I feel absolutely no sympathy for him. Attacking a building full of people who were completely innocent makes him a murderer and not any kind of ideological freedom fighter like he tried to portray himself as in his "manifesto."

I do find it interesting, though, that he was an engineer (those apparently being more susceptible to becoming terrorists).

Stack sounds like every conspiracy theorist-in-a-box. I like how he mentioned that the Catholic Church is some all-encompassing Illuminatus, unlike his Christ Community Church of Christian Christianity. His motives also seem rather bipolar; he's hypercritical of both capitalism and socialism, as if they're all out to hang him high.

All of the comments on here so far have been pretty cogent. Hitting the IRS is like shooting a mailman, not the problem, just an open target. I might have had sympathy if he had targeted Congress itself; after all, they are the ones who come up with new tax laws, but I would spend the effort on Micheo Kako's physics theories instead.

After all if time travel is a valid concept, going back and convincing Franklin Roosevelt's Congress not to pass the present tax laws would help even more.

While I know you don't wish to invoke the "H" name, I'm sure his (ie Adolf's) pathology wasn't exactly unique in human history. Frankly, had the guy aimed for the WH or Congress instead of an office building, you'd almost would've had to give him credit (afterall, the govt does have anti-air security in DC). Instead, the psycho took the easy way out and hit an undefended building. Fortunately (except for the 1 or 2 that died), there were few victims to have to mourn.

Certainly not, but that's not really the point, when you talk about blaming others and violence as a solution, two big names come to mind and that's Hitler, and to the somewhat more educated, Marx. Though the ideology has been popular amongst many famous people and many not-so-famous people(Guy Fawkes anyone?), most people aren't familiar enough with the little guys to remember them. So we Goodwin out of the sake of recognition and long-winded arguments explaining who some guy was back in 1377 who tried to kill the pope.

When you work for the IRS, it shouldn't be unreasonable to expect that sooner or later some crazy bastard will try to kill you. Chalk it up as an occupational hazard, and go work somewhere else if you don't like it.

Wow. I aspire to BE an electrical engineer. This makes me feel just GREAT! :dozey:

In all seriousness, though, the mindset of people who like/aspire to be engineers varies quite a bit. Based upon my own personal experience. I mean, sure, any one of them could be bat-**** crazy, but TBH so could anyone else. It's the person and not the field.

Sure, engineering is an attractive thing b/c of the skills involved and because of what ends it can be used for. Especially to people who might use it maliciously.

I just hope there aren't morons who decide that engineering is the cause of this lunacy.

My attitude about people like him is that they should just remove themselves and not bother anyone else.

Fut-o-rama suicide booth? Anyone?

Ah great, here we go. Cat fights over money and anything else for compensation. Now let's try to exact a price. THAT'LL SOLVE EVERYONE'S PROBLEMS!

Never mind the moron's wife obviously didn't agree with him and felt threatened enough to get away from him. If she knew for certain he was going to go out with a bang like this, she probably would have informed law enforcement. But oh no, something happened and now we have to prosecute you because of the off chance you might have simply allowed this to happen.

Moron blames everyone else for his problems, now the wife gets blamed for his mess. Oh yeah, way to go! :thmbup1:......:dozey:
