Voice Acting

Hey guys! I recently got an email from Disney asking me to do VO's for a Disney marketing campaign. I'm really excited, and if you know any voice actors, or casting people for tv shows or movies, I'd really appreciate passing my information to them.

All of my information can be found at this link:

that is awsome! Did your parents say it was alright? Do they even know your only 14?

Yes, they are excited also. And they need kids/teenagers to do the voice overs to appeal to the kids that watch disney channel and visit the website. I'm pretty sure that the job will be commercials for the Disney Channel website.

congrats :)

Voice over acting has to be the sweetest gig ever...... some get paid thousands/millions just to make silly voices.

Of course there are wonderful exponents out there, Jennifer Hale(female Shepard in Mass Effect etc) is delightful, and Marc Thompson, who does all the recent star wars audiobooks is amazing with all his impressions of the different characters.

In Medieval times, were you to parade around speaking in various tones of voice, you'd be set alight. Now you just get handed a big fat check :D

I can do a great scooby-doo impression, so put in a good word for me, I want some of that crazy green too :D

I got the email via voices.com; a highly recommended voice acting site, and the email wasn't from Disney directly, rather a marketing company called Commercetel. And before you go on about how I should be careful of being scammed, I know the signs of scammers and how to avoid them. Like watermarking voice files before giving them to the client.

I'm not completely incompetent you know. :p

clearly Mike Myers is a stereotypical voice actor... oh wai-

Hmm. stereotypical voice actor - this must clearly be an industry term ;)

I wonder if they are on the same pay scale as "gravelly voiced movie promo guy" or "neutral female computer voice lady"

@JuniorModder don't be disheartened by the mislaid sentiments of internet strangers :) Good luck with your new gig!

Mike Myers is a "celebrity voice actor"... obviously meaning that he's someone who's already hugely famous that the people who make whatever want in their project hire them for the publicity.

Regular voice actors on the other hand don't get much for their work which is why you tend to see them taking or trying to take on a whole bunch of jobs at the same time to make teh moneys... hell, there are voice actors who even have other more practical jobs to tide them over.

So yeah... "lol...millions"

Mike Myers got over a total of $20 million(USD) for the three Shrek films :thmbup1:

The average voice actor for things like anime, cartoon network, etc make only decent pay. It is why you hear them all the time. It is a steady job.

Mike Myers got $20 mil because he's a famous actor and can demand that kind of bank. However, he isn't voicing random characters in Bleach to get ends meet.

As far as acting cash goes most make little more than non-star sitcom characters, especially considering they are paid by the word.

Why won't you do voice acting which has "bad language"?

you one of them no cussing club kids?

I would have to say yes. Bad language is an unappealing way for insecure people to look cool, or a silly way to work off anger.

I'd tend to agree. Voice actors are still "actors".....and they're about a dime a dozen, or at least suffer from oversupply vs available jobs. Lest your famous or established, you're probably making peanuts.

As a teenager, $100 is good money for me. And voice acting is almost always a part time job. And clearly as I was contacted by people working for DISNEY, somebody must see something in me.

So yeah... "lol...millions"

Doing impressions of famous people leads to casting department calling you instead of the famous person. So "LOL! MILLIONS!!"

If you've heard my demo, you know a bit of what I can do.

Astrotoy7: Thanks for the support.

A voice actor can charge a hefty fee as long as it is cheaper than the throng of other voice actors who have to pay rent and haven't eaten anything but ramen for the past 6 months who can also sound like the famous person that is being imitated.

Fix't.

On a more serious note, can you sing? If you can that means more jobs are available for you, and the vocal control that comes with it is a pretty good thing.
