TOR Guild Pre-launch program

It should be said that while both of these Guilds are currently Republic aligned, we are in the process of setting up a group for those of you with a penchant for black robes and stealing candy. :)

So come on folks, join today!

It looks awesome, for the record, I've set up my own guild, just as a placeholder, and to make sure no one takes my guild name if I decide to really do the Guild Leader thing :)

Awesome!

I'm sort of with you on the running a guild thing - I'm not sure how I ended up setting up LF's 'Official' Guild (for the good guys, at least), but I think I'm going to give it a shot, at least. :)

So if you wanna play a light-side and a dark-side character, you'll have to join two different guilds? (My only MMO experience was Guild Wars, so forgive my stupidity)

Correct - Guilds in most MMOs cater to just one faction, and TOR is no different.

Coincidentally, LF's Dark Side guild, LF Sith Knights, is now open for members. :)

EDIT: Oh, look! a Social Group!

Isn't trolling against the rules, Jae? o_Q

Yep, that's the fleet I'm in with Star Trek Online, and I grabbed the name for them. I have no issue with people who are members here setting up and running guilds--I suspect we'll have a list of guilds that LF members are in eventually. Each guild is capped at 500 alts, and if you're an altaholic like I am, we'll very rapidly cap out if we have just 1 guild.

@Miltiades--it looks like yes, you'll end up in different guilds if you're in different factions. The guild model is more like LOTRO's model rather than GW's model. In GW, all your alts are in the same guild automatically. In LOTRO, each alt can be in a different kinship/guild. TOR is running like LOTRO in that regard.

I was referring to the fact that sending people from a SW site to a ST one could be an angry, nerdy form of rickrolling.

I'm sorry, but LF Knights sounds like a dumb name for a guild... in MMO-speak it reads "Looking For Knights" :/ *shrugs*

It's just a place holder for now, to make sure LF has some sort of presence in game (assuming people want to play in an LF guild).

Of course, it didn't help that either 'Lucas' or 'Forums' are restricted words and couldn't be used as part of the name.

If people have better ideas, feel free to suggest them and we can have a poll to pick the best name (the same goes for the Sith Guild, too). :)

Thanks for clearing that up, guys. Hopefully I won't be too confused when I'm in different guilds. Anyway, I'm in!

By the way, one social group for all LF guilds or one for each?

I set the first one up with the intention of having a social group for each guild, but seeing as it's likely many of us will have characters for either side, I'm now thinking it might be better to stick with just the one group for now, to keep all the TOR and Guilds related discussion in one place - but we can always change it - this is hopefully going to be a community effort, after all. :)

EDIT: To get the name suggestions going, how does 'Tython Rangers' grab people? 'Korriban Conclave'? 'Alderaan Avengers'?
