Marius Fett
Greetings, fellow Holowanites! You all know the little pieces of music that play when you get either Dark Side or Light Side points in TSL, right? Well, i've been trying to modify them today, and replace them with some better tracks. Now, i've tracked them down as mus_s_darkside and mus_s_lightside in the Stream Music folder. But no matter what I do, my new sounds simply will not play! I either get the originals playing or I get complete silence... I've been working with JCarter to try and get it working, but neither of us has any more ideas as to what could be the issue... So, if any of you lovely little genius's out there knows what's occuring, feel free to enlighten me!
kyrie
Are you saving the new ones as RAW .wav files or normal .wav?
Marius Fett
I've tried both, as well as saving as an mp3 instead, but nothing seems to work at all. There's nothing wrong with the music file anyway, as when I set it to replace something else instead it worked completely fine. It's just when I try to replace the alignment shift music. Fallen Guardian
Try saving it as an MP3 file and then manually changing the file extension from .mp3 to .wav.
Marius Fett
Also already tried that. I've tried all the usual options, but it just doesn't seem to want to work... It's not the audio file that's the problem though, as if I replace another music file, it works perfectly. It's just when I try to replace alignment music. Fallen Guardian
Huh, well if it won't work by replacing another option would be to change the entry in ambientmusic.2da from the original files to a custom name for your file.
JCarter426
Unfortunately, the alignment music cues aren't in there.
Fallen Guardian
Then perhaps they belong in the streamsounds folder? Or wasn't there another folder that had RAW files in them, or was that streamsounds?
Marius Fett
^That was StreamSounds. I've tried replacing the files in both of the folders, both individually and simultaneously. I've also tried just placing my new file in the Override folder, both with and without it being in the StreamMusic/StreamSounds folders at the same time. Basically, any configuration you can think of, either me, JCarter or both of us has tried it. :/
Hassat Hunter
Try searhing LF for "Telos cantina" The music there is the same, and someone was able to replace it, although I don't recall how, it was described in his/her thread.
Marius Fett
Is this the thread you're talking about? Already saw it, nothing suggested in there worked. It's so weird! It should work, it just... Doesn't...
Darth InSidious
I'm pretty sure it's because you're replacing the wrong files. You want to replace mus_s_lightshort and mus_s_darkshort . IIRC, these are the ones that actually play in-game.
Marius Fett
...Words cannot express how stupid I actually feel right now. Cheers, DI... That's done it... Doesn't explain why when replacing the others, sometimes there'd just be silence, though.
kyrie
Nice catch DI
JCarter426
That's the first thing I said... I thought we tried changing those. Oh well. Indeed it doesn't explain the silence, but then again it's not difficult to break the game.
Kainzorus Prime
I'm rezzing this thread, since I'm having similar issue. Difference is, I replaced the right files, and still have the original cue playing. Hell, as a test, I've emptied the entire streammusic and streamsounds folder. -STILL- had it playing. Need help here.
