Not really. Feeling a bit better... but buried in work. Had John McLaughlin (of the Mahavishnu Orchestra) at work the other day. Then the top selling pop star diva out of Brazil. Both were kinda long days...

Still no car yet... but all this driving has made mom's car feel 1000 times better than the first day I drove it.

Put all my AC units in yesterday. At least now I can sleep at night, and not swelter all day... but the constant drone of machinery is annoying in it's own way.

I have a birthday this week. Looks like I'll be spending it at work on another long, pain in the butt show. Perfect.

As per usual, I'm not exactly looking forward to another b-day... but: I've been having a truly crappy month. And year, if I'm honest...

I'm hoping the birthday is kind of a karmic pivot point for me... that things afterwards will start to look up again.

The 27th. I'm now 43. Yay. :dozey:

Spent the entire day at work with a couple hundred very picky string players.

It was quite the party. Same group tonight too...

I have the weekend off. I'll have to do all my celebrating then.

I thought you got me on teh Bookface?

I dunno... this is the very first time I've ever made my B-Day public there. I got several dozen Happy Birthday wishes. I lost track of who hit me and who didn't.

The weekend was OK. Not great. I ended up having to go into work on Sunday unexpectedly, and that threw what few plans I had out of whack. There's a married couple who work in my department and they kinda had a baby Saturday night or something. Needed someone to cover shifts...

I'll try to make up for it this week. Holiday! Whoo!

I'm working all next weekend too. And probably the one after that... and the one after that... and the one...

Yeah... I went out and splurged after my b-day and bought myself... shoes and socks.

Granted... they were new exercise gear I was desperately needing. Gotta get back in some semblance of shape this summer... other than "blobby" that is.

Well, came across the Star Wars Holiday Special on youtube...which reminded me of this place. Can't remember for the life of me when was the last time I posted here.

Anyways. Interesting stuff happening over the past few years? Graduated, got a job, managed to keep it. Became a father. That's a pretty big deal. Didn't buy SW on bluray yet though, DVD will have to suffice for our young padawan :p

Off to read how you guys have been doing :D

As for me during the downtime. I got a new Samsung Galaxy s4. Also went to Madison and found some new stores to visit.

There is a store called Vom Fass. it is a chain based in Germany. They sell and bottle a whole SLEW of good things. Oils, Oil infustions, Vinagars, Grappa, and even Whiskey. They buy barrels of whiskey and then bottle it on site to order. Found this wonderful 16 year old speyside Craigellachie

well i told her right off the bat what i expect of her as a girlfriend if we get back together, that i will not compromise my goals and dreams for her, that she must accept me for who and how i am and the person that i have become. if she cant do that and just wants me to live to please her, i've got like 3 other girls on standby (didn't tell her that).

Projected year-end post count after June: 1,418

Probably no way you can blame two days of downtime for the whole drop-off...activity was "suspiciously" down all month.

Keyan, food trucks are all the rage now, from what I can tell. They even have food truck festivals up here during the summer.

Personally, I've begun shopping for stuff I need to be able to run brackets for the Monday night Coke league on nights that the guy who usually does it can't make it. Expecting a laser printer here Friday...figure I can stuff that in a duffel bag to take on the bus when I need to, and it would be faster than the inkjet I've been using at home. The person running brackets normally extracts an administrative fee from each bracket, so I'm expecting everything to eventually pay for themselves. :)

Well... I for one have had a truly ****ty month (actually, going on past the 2 month mark at this point...) and didn't want to post all negative downer crap.

I mean, it would boost the post count... but looking back at years past I couldn't believe how depressing much of my daily updates were. Ugh.

Trying not to be "that guy" this year...
