Taking the day off. Might go for a drive in a bit. Give the car a shakedown cruise.

Stupid crazy hot and brutally humid out there though... So it probably won't be with the windows down and the sunroof open.

Forgot to update you guys...I have a new laptop (which I actually bought refurbished), so now I have all of the hardware I need for my new (bowling-related) project. I do plan to use the laptop outside of the bowling project, too, including watching the US Open (also in bowling) in the coming week, so I'm hoping I can get it set up this weekend (I have a "playdate" with my bestie Sunday afternoon).

Girlfriends car is dying hard and fast. She has her eye on a 5000 dollar PT Cruiser which is about 5200 after tax and title. It won't add that much to the already outstanding loan she has on the gigantic piece of **** she drive now if we can roll it over, and surprisingly, for a 19 year old driver, the insurance won't go up much either.

Then again, she's been driving for almost a year with no tickets. I was not so luckey/awesome.

That and I applied for an executive assistant position with in my current work place. It would net me about 35k/year starting, which I'm only making MAYBE 22k/year now. A much more livable wage.

officially back together with my girlfriend. feeling pretty good about it.

As a bro, dude.... :/

We're here for ya if it don't work out, but we will say we told ya so. Good luck and may the Force bless you and your GF.

Though I can't exactly say much. My GF cheated on me and we're back togeather (1.5 years dating now, and almost a year living togeather).

So.... I guess I should shut up. LOLOL. :D :D

Took one step outside... thought "F*** that!" Went back into AC.

2nd plan:

It's a good day for sitting in one place, very still, with a fan blowing right on me, drinking something very cold with a lot of ice in it. Maybe reading... or playing a video game or 2.

The heat index "feels like" temp in Boston is 107 right now. It's not quite as bad here... maybe only 104 or 105.

:dozey:

yeah i know i feel a little more cautious now, am not going to let happen what i let happened before where she ran me below the ground financially (i was pretty retarded for allowing that to happen)...i told her this straight up too that i have a financial goals that i will not deviate from. lol not sure when i'll tell my parents that she's back with me, probably a few weeks after i get back. i gotta do what makes me happy, but will not let my finances get out of control like last time.

Good plan. I prefer to do my adventuring in the cold, whenever possible. I did manage to make three 5-mile runs in this heat and humidity this week, but they really took it out of me. I'm looking forward to cooler weather.

Had a "Jack & Jill" wedding shower for my eldest nephew (who is also the recently found one) and his fiancee today. Everyone was asked to bring their favorite recipe and something to cook it with for the couple, and I've never been much of a cook, but I did find recipes for two of my favorite dishes (which got me through a couple of periods in my life when I wasn't living at "home") online and gave them a Crock-Pot (both dishes can be cooked in a slow-cooker). :)

Laptop is operational...one of the things I had hoped it would help with is the full-screen pixelation on the PBA's Xtra Frame subscription video service when I throw the stream in that mode; it's still a bit pixelated, but not as bad even on my HDTV as my desktop monitor, so I think I'm set for US Open qualifying tomorrow morning. :D

got arma 2 off steam getting day z for it. zombies!

planning my next big purchase before i allot myself vacation money and put the rest of the money i earned here into savings...

a kayak, this way i can explore the rivers and lakes around me, dont need a trailer for it because the car i got has a rack on the top for it. it's a 1-2 person kayak, so if someone doesnt wanna go with me and i really wanna go out on a lake or river i can go by myself.

the next huge purchase will be in a few years, planning on using that VA loan and buying a house.

Sad thing with the steam summer sale is I already owned some of the games they had for sale (Civ 5, Borderlands 2, Air Bucceneers, Kerbal space program, FTL, Skyrim, Far Cry 3, etc.)

Of course, not I realize I got better things to do now they waste my time playing games

sinuses are finally clearing after the sandstorm that wrecked them last week.

110-115+ degrees+hot sand, recon wrap not doing its job lol. was in misery for 3 days. feeling alot better now though i got a stuffy nose.

also, boredom. cant wait to get home so i can drive my new car, go paintball, mountain biking, hiking, running, fishing, and getting my first kayak. though, the time is going by at a moderate pace. only a matter of time before i am home...
