Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Sorry to be a spoilsport, but I highly doubt Spielberg or Lucas have had an iota of creative input.

Quote

Howard and MachineGames have also been in touch throughout development with Lucas and Spielberg themselves. “They’ve been constantly involved,” says Andersson, smiling. “We’ve provided them with regular production updates through the whole project.”

This is marketing speak for 'we sent some emails to a Lucasfilm address that never got passed on'.

I think you're right. Pure marketing talk.

Hmm... Maybe I'll send an email to Lucasfilm once a month too, so I can say I'm regularly involved with Lucas and Spielberg.

"Hey guys, playing Fate of Atlantis again. Here's a picture of me playing the game. Still waiting for your reply. Love."

  • 3 weeks later...

I know someone who worked as a graphic designer for a Spielberg produced film, and Spielberg did indeed attend phone conference meetings to discuss direction for the advertising. When I worked at Secret Cinema, Ivan Reitman attended teleconference meetings when we did a Ghostbusters show. Honestly wouldn't surprise me at all if Spielberg and Lucas took a few hours a month to dial into a production updates on the game over Zoom. Often these people really care about what's being done with their creations... even if their input doesn't change things that much

Also, there was some events held in LA, San Francisco and London last week where some outlets and Youtubers were invited to play 2 1/2 hours of the game and see a presentation as well. They also set the event up to look like Indys office in Marshall College.

Gameplay footage from these individuals and their first reaction thoughts will be up on 29th October

Meh... totally not feeling that one. Feels way too contrived for me. Indy was never a one woman man in those years, and I doubt Marion is the type to sit at home and write a journal for when her hubby goes off to work again. I think they just wanted a Grail Diary-type collector's thingy to put in the box.

Actually, all this stuff, the publicity stunts, the gold X-Box, the diary, that terrible Troy Baker video... It feels like they're just trying way to hard.

Anyway, thanks for keeping us updated, Threepwood4life! 🙂
