Wolfenstein and Medal of Honor have both been release for Multiplaying online for player to see how it plays on the net. Will Lucas do the same , this can give the developers a chance to see if the gameplay is balance or if it any tweaking is needed before any patching is ever needed.I can just imagine storming up the beach with Tie bombers above me and Stormtroopers blasting me before I get to the wall....oh wait thats Wolfenstein.....HEHE:D

thats not a good argument

a test an a demo are different things, and LEC will release a demo

what we would like tho is a mp test released some time before the game, and that is useful to find some last bugs not detected in beta testing, and maybe improving game balance

demoing the game is not (supposedly) the main reason for releasing a test

A test sounds like a good idea...but you have to remember that RTCW's MP was done by another developer, while Gray Matter largely focused on SP. Although Lucasarts is involved to an extent, JKII is mostly being developed by Raven only, and I'm not sure they have the capacity to focus on all that feedback coming at them from an MP test. I've no doubt they're well into crunch mode now, and doing a considerable amount of their own testing. Maybe if the timescale hadn't been so tight, it could have been done...but I doubt we'll see it now if JKII is set to be released in March.

I'm just hoping for a feature-rich demo...

I agree with Bartolo_JCS. LEC/Raven should release a multiplayer test version. A great opportunity to hammer out bugs and problems across many different PC rigs and configurations.

On the other hand, it's possible that the q3 network code base has already been 'perfected' to the point that it really isn't necessary. Perhaps the original Q3 test took care of that step.

Or is the multiplayer codebase for Jedi Outcast significantly altered from the original Quake3? In that case public testing would make a lot of sense.

In any case it's academic. Testing will take place entirely in-house.

oh come on digl

we have been spoiled in comparison to other games and I think they have shown us enough screenshots so we can all speculate amongst ourselves. After all that is half the fun. If they told you the important bits it would ruin it.

You know, I always thought the little circle-reticle from JK/MotS was ingenius. What better way to specify the target of your Force power? Could it be spruced up to look less cheesy? Sure, but as a metaphor for targeting the Force, I thought it was brilliant.

There will definatly be a demo, but remember, Outcast just entered the beta stage. That means it'll probably be released in a few months, maybe 2-4 months, I'm not sure. And as for those RtCW and MoH:AA "Multiplayer Tests" Those are just demos with a new name.
