First I feel sorry that he died.

I dont think he's special,tho.

All he did was make music(or donate, dont know him well) and over used drugs and killed himself, thus making all his music lovers sad)

Where some paramedic that saved lives could've died and no one besides his family would give a damn.

Nothing presonal against Dave Williams, or you, but how could you call that crap music?

Cause of death is still yet to be determined. Don't make assumptions.

Personally... I do give a damn about all the paramedics/fire fighters that die each day protecting people. But then I do give a damn about those who give back to our world through the form of music. Music is a vastly large part of my life. I cared when Kurt Cobain died. I cared when Layne Staley died. And now I care that Dave Williams has died. Why? I like music. I like all forms of music. It's sad that he died. If you're not human enough to realize that a loss has taken place then you aren't human. You don't have a soul because you show no or little respect for the people who do care.

Anyways, I do not want to get into a flame war with you people right now. I am rather, hopefully, explaining some of the reasons why I care and why I feel sad about Dave's death.

Go take a look over at Drowning Pool's forums. There you will see thread after thread of people from other music boards (some not even remotely related to DP) offering their condolences to Dave's family, band, friends, and fans. I myself have contributed to their postings and offered my deepest condolences.

Be sure to also look for the threads about stories about Dave. They may change the way you think about him. For all who knew Dave, they knew that there was never a more deserving person for achieving what DP did. A platinum cd! I think that is a wonderful accomplishment for a band's first official record label CD. Very few bands don't get the kind of chance that DP got. But the one thing that separated DP from all the egotistical bitch nu-metal **** bands out there that got big and started being total dicks to their fans is this: No matter what, even when Drowning Pool was playing to huge sold out Ozzfest shows, Dave still made time for his fans. After every show you would see him hanging out with fans and giving autographs. Dave was never an egomaniac about DP's short rise to fame. For those that knew about him before DP, you know he had been trying to make it in various bands in Dallas, TX before he got in with Drowning Pool. By that time he had earned himself the nickname "Stage" because of the man's immense stage presence and powerful vocals. After he got in with DP, things clicked. Remember, just because you hate their music doesn't mean they aren't good. That's called opinion. Everyone is entitled to one of course. The facts are: a band doesn't get platinum status because they suck. So they were doing something right and even had a chance to evolve on their next cd (which they were about to start recording).

Anyways, long rant yes, but to me, Dave was a special person. And it's sad that he died.

Sorry if anyone feels any different but as you are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine. Thank you.

. But then I do give a damn about those who give back to our world through the form of music.

To tell you the truth, I think our world will be a better place without music with guys screaming "LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR". Whatever it is he's "giving back to the world", it aint music, its just violent aggression.

It's obvious how little he cared for human life by having a song called "let the bodies hit the floor". It's so ironic to see big tough looking obvious fans screaming the lyrics to that song everywhere, and then see them all say "he was such a good and nice man". If he's was as nice as you say he is, we'll never know because he only showed the world one side of himself.

I am a music lover, I like alternative music, I have liked alice in chains forever, but you didnt see me posting that Staley was a good man, because I dont know him well enough to say that much, and also because he died of drugs. Yes it's sad, and it's ok to mourne, why should people care care if some millionare junkie musician throws away his life. (this is also the reason why this whole elvis revival is annoying me, the idiots are celebrating the 25th anniversary of his death... HIS DEATH BY DRUGS.)

Now come on volrathxp, what else would he die of, no sign of foul play, and he was alone in his bus, and he did drugs. But if your just giving him the benefit of the doubt, dont be surprised when they do say he OD'd. ok, now I'm through being in rant mode.

Yea true its like the abe lincoln quote

You can fool some of the people some of the time

and you can fool half the people half the time

but you cant fool all of the people all of the time

or something like that point is not every1 is gonna like your music....

It was only the first album anyway. Not everyone blossoms like on the first album,(unless your Linkin Park) Remember Nirvana's first album? Nuff said.

nice avatar btw Darth Groovy! :p:D

And yeah, they were being rumored to have been working with Nikki Six from Motley Crue on their next cd. There still is no word on really whether or not DP will actually pick it back up with a new singer, although I myself highly doubt it will happen.

Groovy, what else ya listen to sides DP? (as he veers the thread offtopic :p)

I never said I knew how he died.

I stated a fact. IT states on Drowning Pool's official website that a cause has not been found yet and until a cause is posted on there, then I am undecided onto how he died.

I think you know but won't share because it's all your fault!

j/k

Seriously, I can't believe the guy who sang Let the bodies fit the floor died. Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor, besides muslims that is.

God it's good to be back! :D

I listen to virtually anything that is not Country, and my favorites very from genre to genre. Right now this is the disc I am playing:

um... k... you guys do know the song's about mosh pits right?

duh!

:p

seriously though, some people read way too much into lyrics these days. lyrics are just words and regardless of what the song means or what it's about, sometimes it's just a song with a catchy tune that sounded good. the purpose of bodies was to really give dp a good catchy tune that people would recognize instantly as DP. good production on Wind-Up's part there.

eh i'm on a rant, i'ma shut up now... peace..
