First off, I've seen Episode II at least six or seven times and I have to say that it is the best movie I have ever seen. I can't wait for 2004, and Episode III.

I have one question about the movie that has been burning in my mind ever since the first day it opened: I saw the Mace Windu carried a purple lightsaber. If anyone shouldn't Yoda be the one with a different lightsaber (instead of green, it should have been white whith a light blue core or something really neat).

What do you think?

I loved Ep I even though many consider it to be bad. I liked this movie because it was an introduction into what the old republic was like. It was more like the ANH. It also had Darth Maul and Queen Amidala. It was more elegant than Ep II. The fight between Darth Maul and Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan was awesome.

The one in Ep II was good to but you couldn't see much of the action. The battle against the droid control ship was good to and I liked a lot. I'm more of a Starship person.:D It also introduced the elusive Sith and what the wanted to do to the galaxy. It just is so cool. The podrace seen was very cool and that has to be one of the best Scenes from all the movies.

OK ... first off, I'll say that I'm old enough (36) to have seen Star Wars when it first came out, when there were no 'episodes'.

I've been a fan since, my interest lulling for a while when I was busy getting married, buying a house, and having kids and stuff ... now I have two boys to share it with!

That said, I have a hard time deciding whether I like Episode II or V better. Over time I'm finding Episode II sticking in my mind more ... here's my current list.

- Ep II

- Ep V

- Ep VI

- Ep IV

- Ep I

I also waffle a bit between IV and I ... not that I dislike any of then, it is that the jedi battles and the development and humor of Obi-Wan in EpI is very appealing to me.

I voted for SW2... I think it's the overall best... the story is involving (I even like the romance), the visuals are incredible (you could take any given scene, frame it and it wouldn't look out of place in the best art collection... the people at ILM are truly masters), and it's the first SW movie that really revealed the length and breadth of Lucas' vision. There have been very few people who have the scope of Lucas, and so far hw is the only one to really capture it; his imagination just blows me away. He has captured on film worlds and battles that are inspiring. SW2 is my perfect movie, and it's started the film renaissance.

And yes, I mean every word of the above. I can't wait for SW3.

And a few other brilliant insights ;)

SW4 was our first glimpse at the SW universe. But the sequel is always the test of a truly great universe.

SW5 gave us something new we'd never seen before. It wasn't just a ripoff of SW4, but it continued the story and explored everything from another angle, and gave a great plot twist. You saw really exotic environments, Hoth, Dagobah and Bespin... it expanded the universe in an incredible way and topped its predecessor.

Then came SW6. SW6 really didn't offer us anything new. We'd seen Tatooine in SW4, we'd seen the Death Star before in SW4 and Endor... well most people can drive a couple of hours and come to a national park that fits the part. There wasn't anything new or exotic which hurt the movie visually. But you might say that this was done purposfully so that you wouldn't be drawn to the visuals, but be able to focus more on what was "under the tongueroot", the mental battle. But it didn't expand the universe itself.

SW1 was a new start. It showed us new characters and new settings, but it was still an original. And its sequel would make or break it, just like SW5 would make or break SW4. SW1 did expand the universe to some extent, but it didn't have the breadth of the original trillogy. The OT was about a civil war that encompassed an entire galaxy and consumed the lives of millions, sucking observers into it against their will. SW1's catalist was a mere trade dispute over a single planet. On the surface, it was on a very small scope.

SW2 was the sequel, did it do with SW1 what SW5 did for SW4? I believe it did. Again, it expanded the universe, gave us truly exotic locals to feast our eyes on. Gave us new looks at familiar places. And it had reclaimed the epic scale of the OT. The galactic conflict is back, the Jedi are at their peak. We're seeing how they train, how they think, how they interract with the government. SW2 and SW5 are without a doubt the same kind of movie, they both carry the weight of the movie that came before them, and add to the universe.

Now you all listen to Jedi Monk there......smart fellow is he!

I do believe you mean to say that SW2 and SW 5 are the same....not 2 and 4....i think....

EXCEPT i thought RotJ brought us something completely new to film. A MASSIVE, EPIC, EXTREMELY COOL space battle. The battle above Endor was without a doubt the coolest space battle ever seen. It had tons of different ships, laser blasts flying everywhere, explosions and emotion galore! The battle of Yavin paled in comparison..that's what i think anywho.

Uh... yeah... hehe... *changes that* :D That's the problem with the theme of keeping track of the SW movies by chapter number... it's easy to mistype... ;)

And I agree that RotJ has the best space battle of the Trilogy, and the speeder bike chase is great, too. But still don't think it really expands the SW universe. It shows you bigger glipses of things already seen, but nothing really new. I think Lucas said the same thing... in RotJ, the trilogy comes full circle, he's basically mirroring it with ANH... he's (paraphrasing) repainting ANH with more colors on his palate. But that doesn't really appeal to me as much as seeing completely new things. And the Ewoks kind of hurt it in my eyes, too... but then, if it wasn't for the Ewoks, I might not be a SW fan today, so I guess they're a necessary evil (and I bet a lot of people 20 years from now will say the same thing about Jar Jar Binks). But Lucas should've showed the Ewoks roasting some stormtroopers :D

I have loved all of the Star Wars movies.

Ep. II is my favorite (because of some of the reasons JediMonk has stated) mostly for all of the jedi scenes, that's what I like:D

I think Yoda should have had a yellow lightsaber, that would have been cool. :)

I think it´s quite possible that EP3 will be the favourite of many fans. That's because it connects the two trilogies so that the saga is complete! We all know what is going to happen, and since we saw what GL made to Ep2, i think we can expect a great movie in a few years.
