a boy in Japan has die after playing on his computer for 87 hours straight without sleep, food or water. I kid you not.

If you are going on a computer game marathon please take several breaks and be sure to eat and drink.

I wouldn't be able to that if I tried. I also eat and drink at my comp so I would be fine. :)

i heard it on the radio, but i'm sure it will be on a website somewhere

thats very sad. whats more said is how many deaths have happened that way. and whats more said then that is that ive heard this story so many times in so many places at so many different times that im actually starting to be pleased that morons who will go that long without sleep food water etc are eliminating themselves and doing our gene pool a favour. these people arent healthy, we joke about the insomnia of the swamp but the moment that stops being jokes and starts being a factor that prevents us from functioning within acceptable parameters its time to lock the forum and throw away the spam.

im sad that im desensitized... yet im also desensitized to the sadness i feel over being desensitized. :eyeraise:

The kid must of sucked if it took him 87 hours and still didn't beat the game. Now there are going to be warning's on the new's and crap. How dumb do you have to be to play 87 hours straight without eating or drinking. Wouldn't you have to go to the bathroom?

Strangest thing that I have heard.

Is seven hours okay Sivy? :p

I've done seven hours, and that's the most I'll ever do. Felt sorta....dizzy....

you should at least take 1 15 minute break every 3 hours,

and also now and again focus on something far away, e.g watch the neighbours fight out your window. this will prevent eye strain which leads to headaches and could damage your vision.

i heard people, i think japan also, died or suffered an illness or blindness (not sure) from watching cartoons.

it said because of the flashy lights that the tv was radiating through the screen.

i've heard this a while ago probably a few years ago. did anybody hear something about this also?

Man 87 hours!!!? How can you do that? After 2 hours you get a headace and 6 hours its worse, ive onlly played 6 hours strait before (Yuri's REvenge) but man? 87 hours!? Radiation from the Comp screen makes your face red so after 87 hours that probably help kil the kid, aside from the fack no water for 87 hours

sometimes when i just start playing video games from the computer i get a little headache. my eyes starts to get irritated.

i try to decrease the brightness but that don't solve the problem. i think its because theres too much going on and my eyes can't handle it.

especially sports games.

this only happens when the resolution is set to max.

If that's true than it's very strange :eyeraise:

If it's false it's got some cracks:

Being on for 87 hours is what... 3 1/2 days? If it's a weekday, wouldn't someone know he is missing from school?

Why would the parents let him stay on that long, if they knew?

That must have been one of the dumbest kids on the planet to not know that would be bad for his health.

If the parents didn't know, why not? Was he staying somewhere? Surely his absence would be reported.

I somehow just can't bring myself to believe that.
