Break_dF Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 Read this: http://pub50.ezboard.com/faxisofjusticefrm2.showMessage?topicID=236.topic I'm guessing that 90% of American students have never heard of the NCLB Act... you might want to think about familiarizing yourself w/ it. *edit* fixd
BlackDove Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 There's nothing more correct than a broken link
BlackDove Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 Good job, and may I just say that being an American under that law sucks beyond all recognition
Break_dF Posted December 28, 2002 Author Posted December 28, 2002 Originally posted by BlackDove Good job, and may I just say that being an American under that law sucks beyond all recognition Yes...I can't argue with that; however, this can and will be changed....eventually...well, I hope anyway.
BCanr2d2 Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 I think Dubya is getting a little too big for his own boots. If the "old" USA was seen as imperialistic, this only makes it look worse. Half of these laws seem to go against the common held ideals that the USA and it's allies are trying to defend.......
RpTheHotrod Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 Heh, I'm in college..but still...disturbing.
Pisces Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 Thank God for the relative lack of importance Canada puts on its army. Jeez, that's not right. Gee, can we all say the road to conscription? Of high school students? Just shouldn't be done.

Ratmjedi Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 I don't think that it is that bad of a thing. All they are doing is giving information to the Recruiter's more easily. All it means is that they are going to send you stuff through the mail and maybe give you a call or two. The phone calls might get a little annoying but all you have to say is that you all ready joined another service and they'll just leave you alone. They also might send information to people who don't know anything about the military and actually give them information that they might want to look into. It's not like it is like China were every male has to give a certain amount of service to the country.

I think it's important to kill this before it grows. Think of it as a virus.
Treacherous Mercenary Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 Politics in America. It just gets better and better .....
Pisces Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 Originally posted by Dath Maximus Canada has an Army? wow...... Cute. Anyway, like Break_DF said, it's not so much what this means, but what it could lead to.
ET Warrior Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 Recruiters are up-front about their plans to use school lists to aggressively pursue students through mailings, phone calls, and personal visits -- even if parents object. "The only thing that will get us to stop contacting the family is if they call their congressman," says Major Johannes Paraan, head U.S. Army recruiter for Vermont and northeastern New York. "Or maybe if the kid died, we'll take them off our list." THAT upsets me a great deal. If i dont want to join the military, you can call me and mail me all you want, i'm NOT joining. I already managed to stop all the military calls and mailings though, i told a recruiter that called me that i have asthma...which i dont, but i can't join the army with a breathing disorder.....
