Darth Groovy
Why would you recomend a game you have not played yet? Just curious. I mean what if it sucks? If it turns out to be cool, I'll get Knights of the Old Republic, and it will be my first RPG game. Well not exactly, I did try Final Fantasy once and didn't have the patience to continue with it. What exactly is the attraction of RPG games?
Darth Knight
well the reason i like rpgs, well i only like some rpgs(not final fantasy) is because they give you more freedom a more non-linear story, that is why i like rpg's like morrowind To clemme you should get morrowind. It is very very good. Some people do not like this game becasue it takes a long time to do some things but if you like those type then morrowind is the best

It's the coolest!
Vegeta Acendent
Well if you have the time and the patcients go Final Fantasy. But also try Arcanum it is just like Diablo but 1000 times better.
Clemme w/Stick
Sme of you say that Morrowind is a good choice. I was wondering, any where to get a demo of the game..?! Yes, I am gonna get KotoR, whether its bad or not... The screenshots are really good. Also the ability to get a dual saber is awsome, allthough I'm not a fan of that kind of saber. -Clemme
Eagle_e7
Morrowind is a really great game:) As far as i know there isnt a demo available, if you want some info of the game though you could always check the official site: http://www.elderscrolls.com (it seems to be down at the moment)
Lost Welshman
If you get Morrowind, get it on the PC NOT on the Xbox. On the PC When you eventually finish the game you can download more quests so the game really doesnt end, and you can even make your own weapons and stuff. greedo626
Diablo II: LOD. it's the best non-console rgp I've ever played:thumbsup:
Luc Solar
Imho Diablo has nothing to do with RPG's. It's a hack 'n slash... But anyway... I'm amazed that no-one has mentioned the Baldurs Gate-series yet! BG's are by far the most successfull crpg's ever. If you want less talk-more action, Icewind Dale might be a good choice. It's the same thing, but more "Diabloish". Start with BG I and import your characters to BG II and BG: TOB. Playing through the whole series would be hella-cool! There's also a lot of add-ons to the BG-series, so you won't run out of stuff to do for at least a few years. Icewind Dale II came out a while ago with a new set of rules (3E). I didn't get hooked, though. It lacks the stuff that got me addicted to BG, namely Party Interaction. But to each their own. BG is a sure bet to anyone who likes rpgs. It isn't the best "eye-candy" out there, but then again that has never been the point in role playing games...
Agen
Duex Ex is still a great game, i recomend it to everyone.
Reborn Outcast
Battlefiled:1942... Amazong graphics and good storyline. Very realistic to... not one of those games where you shoot someone in the foot and they die. If you don't like that then I would get Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. VERY good game in my opinion. Hyperglide
Final Fantasy Tactics is a good hybrid RPG/Strat game u will LOVE. Also any typical Final Fantasy game is great save FF Mystic Quest lol DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. Others are Breath of Fire series, Lunar series, Lufia series. Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Diablo 2 LOD, and my fave of all time Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (this is more action based scroller. Like Zelda games but without the 3d element still a hella good game). If you noticed in my last paragraph all those games are old school SNES for the most part. If you want good RPGs go old school. All the newer ones suck, cept for the FF's. Oh and Legend of Dragoon isn't to shabby either.

Last time I checked, BF1942 and Hitman is as much an RPG as Doom was. Sure, you play a role, but that's confusing terms now. To be a roleplaying game, you have to advance your character/role. You have to affect your world in whatever way your want. You have to expand your role when you want to. This is why the Final Fantasy games are not RPG's. They're adventure games. They're graphic, computerized novels with a soundtrack. Diablo is an action game. You cannot affect your world or expand your character in any way at all. Baldur's Gate can nearly qualify for being a true RPG. But once again, the way your character acts, develops and responds to the environment is at the mercy of the game developers. Not you. Neverwinter Nights I'd dare to call the only real CRPG, since it features a GM that can bend the rules to fit it.
Reborn Outcast
I seem to have gotten confused Please excuse me... But they are still good games.
