Hekx
I personally see Episode 6 to be the end of Star Wars. Everything has to end sometime, and I thought it was a nice time to end it. It is a shame the original trilogy didn't have all the special effects... maybe in 50 years time; when technology maybe greater; Episode 4 - 6 can be remade with better graphics (not that they were that bad in the first place) It would be nice to see some EU made into films; I just hope it isn't going to be some cheesy TV series though Everyone knows Episode 7 is going to be called: Episode VII: The Emperor's New Groove©™ © - Mine! Or I will help you not!

He did not want to make three trilogys of the Star Wars universe. He wanted to make these movies following Luke Skywalker and his Father. He will complete that story after episode three. Whoever you believe is the one who brings balance to force, Luke or Anakin, he has completed their story. There is nothing else to be made about it. And I really will cry if someone trys to make a third trilogy after GL has passed. Its his creation, and brought us so much joy, so why dont we leave it in Lucas' hands ok?Do you really want to see Ron Howard direct Star Wars? ^^ I agree
Arkum
GL says he wont do 7-9, he'll be happy with 3 done. But he wont have anything to do after Star Wars, maybe Indy, but Harisson Ford is too old to be Indy now. Either Gl will have some new great idea that'll create millions of fans or he'll come crawling back to do 7-9. Crawling back............... Sean Connery has signed up for it, as has Harrison Ford - I think its meant to be called Indiana Jones and the Cult of Calostromy... Im sure it will be good! BlackDove
Well if it were me doing 7-9 Star Wars (I wish), I'd do the obvious logical thing which would be to centralise the plot around Skywalkers son he'd make with Mara Jade, (side story would be Han's and Leia's son, not sure if I'd make him a Sith or not just for the sake of the story, I'd have to think about it), which would be an ending tri-pattern of how "good" would overcome. Basically you pit his son against similar things that Anakin went through (well not the same, it'd be boring, but similar-to the same effect the end game would have), and you find out that having a parent is much more better than not having a "master" and that you're most likely to screw up if you don't have anyone "WHO REALLY GIVES A DAMN" to tell you to shove it when you need to (it'd also be about how parents are important, just another step since Lucas obviously did a complex parent-children relationship with the 1-6, so if you were distracted with the pretty colors of the sabre not to see it, I suggest watching again). Which would base the Jedi Temple from the "old days" as being the main wrong key in why the Republic fell. Meh, someone's gonna kill me now for this plot but that's best I could do with the record 3 minutes of thinking it up.
Darth Groovy
True, but there will always be books and games and its fans like us that can keep the magic alive. I've seen all the films hundreds of thousands of times and never tire of them. I always thought it would be neat to do an animated version of the Star Wars Trilogy and use the original cast to do the voices, that could have some staying power. All I know about GL is that he wants to do TV, which is fine as long as it's not Young Indy, some of those were just miserable. And don't get me started on "Howard the Duck":p
Surfnshannon
Well....people were fans when they thought the movies were over back in the day with ROTJ right? And star wars lived on. Then he added the next 3...and Star wars will still live on. They are a masterpiece and I highly doubt fans will loose interest just because the movies are finished.
