got this from natty and neil joshi discussing their towns cool points.

I live in middlesbrough... north east of england...

not far away is whitby... where dracula is supposedly buried, on a full moon his shadow is supposed to appear on the grave where he was buried under a fake name!

Next to middlesbrough is stockton... and near darlington famous for its railway and being the birthplace of the match, also middlesbrough and stockton is famous for industry, having some pretty weird bridges that rise in the air and have swinging type mechanisms with metal-rope that transport cars over and stuff like that... it was on billy elliot!

Also billy elliot was filmed around billingham, practically middlesbrough... And the star james bell (no relation) was born in middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough was birthplace of captain cook... i know natty was interested in captain cook before! Theres a museum and park based around where his house was,

could say the football clubs kind of famous... dunno why tho ;)

i live in São Paulo, one of the biggest cities in the world, and also the biggest economic center in south america. 49% of Brazil's money comes from SP, so brazil has 10th biggest economy in the world (since i checked, now i think mexico has passed us and we r the 11th...). since we have more money, we can invest in culture and sports, so SP is also one of the biggest cultural centers in south america. in that matter, SP and Rio de Janeiro have the best universities in Brasil. and most of the sport players in Brazil come to SP and RJ, so wot u see out there with the brazilian flag is mostly work from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro

Warrington is famous for...not a whole lot. The rugby team is fairly famous, though; it was Allan Langer (best rugby player of this generation)'s team for a couple of seasons, and the great Brian Bevan played for us when he set his record for most career tries in the history of the sport, a record that has not evn come close to being beaten.

We're also famous for wire, the Lever Bros. factory, and our Ikea.

He's Australian yeah? I don't follow rugby but the name looks fimiliar

Anyways- Melbourne is famous for

*Neighbours- nuff said. Home to one of Australia's longest running Aus soaps. Has produced some seriously famous Aussies who have gone onto bigger and better things....including

- Kylie Minogue- Australia's biggest pop export :)

- Natalie Imbruglia- did the whole *Kylie* thing is now engaged to Daniel from Silverchair :)

- Jason Donovan. Makes you cringe. Listen to his duet with Kylie...

- Craig McLachlan- had a promising music career. Butched it with his second single. Made recent comebacks playing Sturat Diver in the TV movie about the Thredbo Disaster and in the movie Lets Get Skase

-Guy Pearce- OK so he was born in England. Shot to fame on Neighbours. It counts. Was starting to make a name for himself in Hollywood. Dunno what's going on there

- Rachel Friend- married to Aussie cricket player Stuart McGill. I think that's worthy of a mention

-Russell Crowe- yes believe it or not Russell starred in Neighbours. *ahem*

- Delta Goodram- soon to release Born To Try in the UK. song featured on an episode of Neighbours last year and went to #1 Another person to do the whole "Kylie" thing

-Daniel MacPherson- now appearing on the Bill. Dunno what the hell he's thinking. Poor guy. Cute smile nice arse :)

-Blair McDonough- ok doesn't really count but the runner up of first series of Australian Big Brother. Not very smart but adorable

- Rebecca Ritters- is now on Corrination Street (is it just me or do most Aussies seem to have some form of obsession with the UK?)

- Holly Vallance- can't think of enough words to describe my dislike of her. Copped abuse for miming at the ARIA awards (Aussie version of like the Brits or GRAMMYs) her excuse was she can't sing live and dance at the same time. Chose to dance and mime. tsk tsk. Now a laughing stock of the Australian Music Industry

-Brian Wenzel- was famous before on Neighbours but he lives around the corner of me. That warrents a mention

OK I've probably missed a few famous people but oh well.

Also famous for "The Secret Life Of Us" especially Joel Edgerton who you might know more as "Uncle Owen" in episode2 :)

Also famous for Shane Warne oh and the MCG. Whoohooo! And best remembered for the first southern hemisphere city to hold an Olympic Games (reffered to as the friendly games) and home to AFL football. Despite what the morons in Sydney and especially Brisbane try to tell you.

I've mentioned landmarks don't think I need to go through them again

I live in a somewhat small town in Missouri (Don't worry, i'm not a hick....yes, I'm wearing shoes). The name of the town is Bolivar, named after the Spanish Liberator - Simon Bolivar. A few other Bolivar's try to claim that Simon founded it, but I believe the records show it is officially Missouri's....well, we got a friggin statue in the middle of our town. Also, I live about 20 miles north of Springfield (Home of Brad Pitt) and the supposed official Springfield of the Simpsons. But we all know that the springfield on the Simpsons is a fake collaberation of multiple springfields....but for this posts sake...ITS OUR SPRINGFIELD! :) Um, either way...I'm ready to get outta this place...graduate college, and head to California.....or australia sounds nice too...hrmm.

Northampton. Princess Diana. Nuff said.

well, okay, not enough said, it's the resting place of her body and soul on the island in the oval lake on the Althorpe Estate, Northampton. The earl of Spencer (diana's brother) lives there with his three children and his wife. he opens the althorpe house and estate for visitors between the times of july 1st and sept 30th (closed on august 30th) and i am happy to say that i will be working there during those times next year :D.

also, we have a pretty good rugby team as well, the Saints, don't know much about them only that they're good.

and i also watch buffy for entertainment reasons, but the vampires there are portrayed way to soft. they're nothing like what vampires were described as in the olden days. especially Dracula (or Vlad the impaler, everyone hated him so much they called him Dracular, meaning son of the devil). i mean, they can't fly, they can't control the weak minded, they can't turn into bats, what's the point if all you need is a steak to kill them. they're just too easy to kill.

Well I live in Ludlow, Massachusetts, a town that hardly has anything. The only things we have are some old jute mills from the early 1900s and a kickass high school soccer team. They manage to go to the state championships (or playoffs) every year.

Beni, you say your town of springfield is the original springfield for the simpsons? Well I live near a town called Springfield. Springfield is home to the Springfield Armory, Smith and Wesson, and the Basketball Hall of Fame. The reason why we have the hall of fame is because the game was invented at Springfield College by Mr. Naismith himself. I think he was a teacher there.

Rochester, New York - well my town is basically part of it, most of the towns around it are. Best know for where Eastman Kodak film originated. Kodak's hq is here. There's the George Eastman house.

Famous People:

Geroge Eastman (Of course)

Frederick Douglas started North Star newspaper here.

The former Wrestler Chyna is from here.

For some reason, the other famous people don't come to mind, but there are a ton.
