I got stuck on getting the fire started in the colonial times, and getting into Dwayne's room.

Sam and Max was easier, and had more swearing (If you can call it that)

Actually, I've never heard Grim Fandango earlier. But meanwhile I was under holiday back to Moscow where my cousins, grandmother, mothers sister etc. One young guy I know was giving me Grim fandango in Rus & Eng version. He didn't need it, so now I own it.;)

My friend told me about it (this was before i knew anything about LucasArts adventure games), so I played the demo, and then bought it (then I played all the other LucasArts games and liked them too).

Other than my absolute love of the fact that you play as the Grim Reaper(well, not THE Grim Reaper but you know what I mean) I also wanted to really get inside that Calavera bastard's head!

Don't waste your time, Gendo. "Being John Malkovich" is more interesting. His head's just got a load of Mercedes(Colomar that is)-craze and self-righteous smarmy nonsense. I did find the magnet combinations for his roulette table interesting though. I'll have to gamble at that old Casino of his at some point.

Huh, I would have guessed the flipside of a bitmapped texture, but there you go.

Saw it years ago, deliciously twisted.

Every time for the past 3-4 years when I walked into the gaming store I saw this game while I browsed over the LA titles. Saw the skeleton [Manny] on the front and thought, "What the hell kind of game is that?" Paid no attention to it and had no interest in it ... I doubt I ever picked up the box to read what was on the back.

Then at the beginning of May, Just Adventure + posted a review about it and gave it a good review. Sure, whatever. But the more I posted on the JA+ forums, the more people kept recommending this game to others and the more it seemed that people had played the game themselves. So I thought, "Well, why not?" picked it up at the store a few weeks ago.

Now look at me. Posting away at this forum like there's no tomorrow. :)

I played the demo first. I thought - Well , this game is great. After that I read some reviews in polish magazines. Grim Fandango was rated as the best adventure game in year. Becuase I am fan of adventure games , I realised that I have to buy Grim Fandango. I paid 200 PLN ,but I was very enjoyed. And I am still enjoy.

My brother bought the game about two years ago, but I didn't even try it. I thought the skeletons looked really crappy and didn't want to know more. My brother can't speak English (if he doesn't improve his studying I doubt he ever will...) so he got stuck in the work order puzzle and forgot about the whole game.

Later when we bought a new computer most of the games that we both liked either didn't work or we had forgotten the annoying codes, so the only game we could still play was Grim Fandango. With nothing better to do I tried to play it too and tadaa, I was hooked.

I am a materialist so even though I could play the game whenever I wanted it wasn't enough - I had to own it. So, this very day I bought my brother's copy of Grim Fandango with 15€! Yay!

No one thing made me buy it, it was a gradual process starting with the "ad" in Curse of Monkey Island, then the magazine ads, then the demo, and finally I saw it in the store and just felt like buying a game that day. Turns out it's the best game I have ever played :D.

I played the demo round a mates house, and thought it was cool, I liked the idea not being able to get shot or die like in other games lol, I looked at reviews on the web, and decided to buy it, The End, that was about this time last year, wow!

I found it out by watching my sister play when i was just a young lad and then I remembered a lot of the parts she did so I played not caring about the story line or anything like that I just played. Then I stopped playing. 6 years later, I was looking for some some games to install (I was soooo BORED!) then I came across Grim Fandango and looked back all those 6 years and decided to play it. When I tried to install it I didn't have enough disk space (Uh-Oh looks like I have to uninstall Counter-Strike :blast5:,so I did) Then I actually understood the story and realized this is a dam good game so I looked on the internet for Grim Fandango websites and looked around and that is how I found GrimFandango.net and that is how I'm here today. The End! :king1:

I first heard about it on a kids TV show called Live and Kicking, they happened to mention it was by the same people as monkey island (which my grandmother randomly bought for me ... i must remember to thank her) and decided i had to have it. I ended up having to get my friends dad to buy it for me and i paid him back over a few months.

About a year ago I was searching for nicktoons racing (i'm 22... but loved nicktoons racing) Came across Grim. I figured hey why not. It was under the 9.99 bin. Went to check out... the girl said to me. This is a red dot game. I'm like okay whats that. She said all games with a red dot are 1.99. I said hey cool. Went home started playing it.... i still would have bought it if it were 9.99 29.99 whatever the price... because its a great game
