Your Fav Gaming Moments

Just a post to talk about those one in a million incredible gaming moments.

I'd have to say mine was playing James Bond: Nightfire with 3 of my friends all playing against me. So I notice there all in the same spot trying to snipe me so I pull out my guided rocket launcher and shoot them all 3 down at the same time. That gives me the kill limit so I win. Funny thing is they only needed 1 more kill and they had to call me daddy for the night. :)

Lets hear some of your stories!

A while ago when i was playing turok evolution at like 3 am in the morning, during a 'sleepover' and was shouting to myself, trying to get through the level without dying, i came close to death 4 times and each time i'd like flip out. that was scary!!

for pc though, when i was wrecking n00bs in SOFII mp test demo and got booted, that was funny as hell!

One time playing JK2, there were 6 of us in the Matrix Dojo in Hermes Place just mucking about, we all knew each other well. This guy entered and starting being an idiot. We all engaged in duels so he couldn't touch us, sat down and just kept hitting our most annoying binds while the guy kept swinging at us not doing any damage. This went on for about 5 minutes and we all couldn't stop laughing it was so funny. Eventually he got pissed off and asked "how do you sit down? Tell me you ******* *****". I typed "like this" and kicked him. OMG it was sooooo friggin funny I will never forget it.

Another time I was about to duel this guy and this is how the conversation went:

"I was just chatting with your friends and they tell me your a girl"

"Yep"

"Cool, I'm gonna **** you with my saber"

"really"

"yeah haha"

At this point I 'froze' him.

"**** this"

I dfaed him then kicked him. :D

Another time in the PadHall map, there were 3 of us doing ffa. There are fires at the end of the map where if you step on them, you slowly burn and die. We all changed to the Jar Jar model and took it in turns to burn him slowly while the others sat round the edge! hehehe great fun.

I could go on and on with loads of stories like this. Hermes was just a non stop barrell of laughs, I sure miss it.

Ghost Recon multiplay on internet 56k:

A guy was firing rocket propelled grenades in my direction. The person missed me a few times and was at the bottom of a cliff and I was at the top.

After a few lucky misses, I was able to throw a grenade down and it rolled down the cliff. A few seconds later I hear an explosion and see the text on the top left handside of the screen confirming the kill.

I felt some accomplishment. :)

I only play LAN mp, cause I have a 56k. But this is my favorite LAN gaming moment.

I was playing three way MOTS and my enemy was right behind me, and I was running down a hallway I pressed Force Projection (which produces a physical image of yourself that punches people when they come by and lasts for a min or two). After I did that my enemy couldn't get by until my Force Projection was over. But I didn't quickly run away, instead I hid under a pathway where I presumed he would walk on, which he did. I pulled out my Concussion rifle and as soon as I saw him I blasted him with regular fire, and the best part was he never saw me!

The billion excellent moments I have trouble remembering...

Luckilly, I wrote one down in a word file to remember! So here it is!

Battlefield 1942 Records

Highest score before death

Server: Seattle T3 V1.3 http://www.ThaiGuy.NET

Players: Around 60

Map: Battle of the Bulge

Side: Axis

Class: Medic

Score: 29

Kills: 21

Date: February 3rd, finely died 5:52 PM. I estimate it took 20 minutes to kill me.

Started out by grabbing a tank, killing people at Windmill, going down and capturing southwest base, went across river and captured south Allied base, went up and captured northeast American outpost, then repaired tank, captured Windmill, lost tank, shot many people with sub-machinegun. Got artillery, bombarded northeast enemy base with artillery, went down, bombarded southeast enemy base with artillery, and was going to bombard northeast base but lost artillery to soldier with grenades. Got out before it exploded, killed soldier, and ran away with machine gun fire splashing around my feet, hid in rubble pile. Went, got more ammo, went up to the captured Allied base to get new tank, but they had taken it back. Died in a one man capture attempt against the allied base.

I woulda done better but there were 3 tanks and a base full of soldier vs me. It was sad.

Another great moment was when me and another game were playing around in a bomber, doing tricks to scare eachother(We took turns being in rear machine gunner seat) and so I did stuff like fly straight up, stall, and fall straight down and pulling up right before crash.

Its an FPS that usually plays with 32-64 players. Its World War 2. You choose one of 5 classes and there are 35 vehicles you can use:bombers, fighter, battleships, subs, jeeps, tanks, APCs, etc. You have to cause the enemy team to lose tickets by capturing points along with killing them. I love it because there is so much variety...its not just running around with a gun and shooting people. It also is great for clans and teamplay.

It doesn't really compare to anything on the market....the upcoming Planetside is kinda like it on a much bigger scale. I suppose the closest thing would be Tribes 2, with its large player numbers, vehicles and diversity of play.

On the website, hit the "Armies" button for a list of vehicles, or read reviews at IGN or Gamespot.

Hermes, I miss that duelin place...

I remember one time when I was dueling with Jah on Hermes, sort of late, and then some idiot came on trash talking us. Jah froze him, and we kicked his ass until we gave him another chance. The guy starts to act okay, then acts like a jackass again.

Froze him, we dfaed him about 10 times, then Jah kicked him.

But honestly, the best moments in gaming had to be the long duel sessions I had with Jah.

*reminisces*

Star Wars: Rebellion was the first Star Wars strategy game Lucasarts did. Critics generally didn't like it much, it tried to do something new and was considered to have failed. Force Commander, the next one, also tried to do something new, and most people hated it. So Lucasarts then threw up their hands and hired whatstheirname(The Age of Empires company) to make a generic Star Wars game. It sold very well. It just goes to show that innovation usually is not profitable:(.

it's a shame too, since i really enjoyed rebellion and force commander. Force Commander was the very first game that I played online. I was one of the few that liked the 3D camera and didn't have much of a problem with it...rebellion took me a while to get used to the interface, but once i did....that had to be the most addictingly fun strategy game ever...

using the cheats in Age of Empires

I was down to one bigdaddy

and my friend had one villager

and towers

and me making sure

my car didnt get screwed.

playing Bad Day On The Midway

The Dark Eye

and Drowned God

anytime playing Lemmings

and yes before I forget

playing American McGee's Alice.

*now this is a very geeky thing to say

but many gaming geeks have a Laura Croft fettish

well I would like to testify that Laura

does not hold a candle to Alice.*;)

Oooh...there are so many great gaming moments from so many games... Here are just a few...

In RUNE, I was down in Hel's dominion, surrounded by zombies, and I quickly selected the axe as a weapon. A quick swipe, and I managed to take off 3 zombie heads in a row. That was just an awesome moment, taking out 3 with one blow. :D

Placing a det-pack on the back of one of the guards in Red Faction, and watchig him run around like a maniac. That was sooo funny.

Also in RF, driving over guards with the drilling rig and hearing the scream-squelch-crunch was just so satisfying in a sick kind of way. :D

Playing Jedi Knight for the first time...and the first level just seemed to go on and on, and I couldn't believe it was just one level.

Playing Unreal for the first time - the Vortex Rikers was kickass, especially hearing the commotion beyond the stuck door - and then coming out and seeing that marvellous vista before you...a rare gaming moment. Of course, who can forget getting trapped in the tunnel with the Skaarj? :D

In Half-Life - coming across the thing in the rocket silo, and realising it reacted to sound. And coming across the big blue thing and having those plasma streams open up on you...

My first win at FFA in JO was quite satisfying too. And playing a game of cat and mouse with another player one time - we both remained on the same server for about 2 hours, while everyone else was coming and going, and had a number of duels together, and luring each other into traps. That was the best time I had online (before any of the patches came along).

And every time I beat an SP game, it feels really good. :)

Halo - A bunch of my friends all ganged up on me, so I took a jeep and went into one of the caverns. i blocked off the entrance with the jeep and took hold of the gunners nest on the back. They all charged me like 20 times, and I fragged every single one of them:D . I eventually had to retreat because a sticky grenade was about to go off, so i retreated further in, and went guerilla style, hiding behind pillars and teaching those guys a lesson. After a while they got the better of me and nearly surronded me. Luckily I threw dow a frag grenade and made my escape by turning the jeep back over and leaving them to EAT MY DUST!

good times......

i miss it also. it was the best and friendliest atmosphere you could have during mp gaming.

hmm, lemme think about a great moment. i love playing RTCW mp and one time we needed to secure a control point. i ran to that point with a few others but they got killed. i was on my own. i entered the area and started shootin with my thompson at those bad guys. suddenly i ran out of bullets, picked out my handgun and kept shootin. at last i killed em all (about 6) and secured the area.

or maybe a jk2 game i remember. i was in BSF (blood shall flow) which was one off the best clans on gamespy, but as i was still in trainin my master orphan. i never had won any game against him, but that moment i fought like i never fought before and beat. and bow, did that feal great.
