Jedi Apprentice Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Do you wish BioWare would've chosen to put the game in the setting of Ep.2 like they had the option to or are you glad they put in the Old Republic era? My opinion is that I'm glad they put it where it is but it would've been cool to have a party of Obi-Wan, Mace and Anakin. What are your thoughts?
Bigpoppa2558 Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 I like the time setting it's in too. Yeah it would have been cool to have Anakin, Mace, Yoda, and maybe Jango Fett . But in this time setting it gives them more freedom to put more and different things in the game.

Hannibal Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 I think they should have made a game to go along with EP 2(other than KOTOR). Kind of like the Ep1 game but improve upon the mistakes they made. They could have got Raven to do it with the QuakeIII engine.
Burrie Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 It would've been nice... but I agree with what some people said in here... now that they've placed the game in an era that's virtually unexplored in which almost anything could happen in the next thousand years (besides the entire galaxy exploding), the options they can present us with are limitless. Finally, you can become the greatest hero or villain of all time in the galaxy, instead of playing a small, but important part, in a campaign.

Occasionally running into characters from the movie.

leXX Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 If it was based on Ep2, you would spend too much time comparing it to the film and not enough time concentrating on the game. This way, the game developers have a lot of freedom and so do the players. It's also interesting to see a part of the Star Wars universe yet unexplored. The Sith vs Jedi wars have always interested me.

For the same reasons as have been stated + I reckon that if they did put an in-depth RPG set around Episode II they would be very much reducing its shelf-life, and just generally asking for trouble. In my opinion, which is well supported by what has happened with Episodes I and II, Episode III will come out with some more real ring-stingers for the EU. At least if the game is set 4000 years earlier they can come up with plausible excuses for continuity issues, while if they set it around Episode II I'm pretty sure the third (sixth) film would come out with some heavily contradictory material and make it look a bit silly in some plot aspects.

Being Keiron Halycon (sorry i can't remember how to spell it) would be really cool: becoming a jedi, finding the last sith lord, leaving the temple, becoming a pirate and saving your wife!! now thats my idea of a thick plot!
