Pedantic
Anyone own airsoft guns? I just got an MP5K blowback, and I'm amazed at the reality of the gun. It literally looks and feels like the real thing. Nothing like fully automatic pellet-fire. In case you have no clue what I'm talking about--click here That thing rocks!!! -=DarkZero=-
Why would you get an air soft gun when you can get the real one off the streets for 50B a piece. But then again you could get arrested -

Pedantic
I'm not old enough to (legally) own a handgun in my state. And handguns still don't shoot full auto.
Breton
I really don't like the fact that it looks so much as a real gun. People who can't get a real gun (criminals, underage, etc) will be able to get this gun and use it for their own good, robbing, mugging and playing with it. I don't think such guns should be sold. BTW, sorry if I start a debate here.

swphreak
I agree with JM Qui-Gon Jinn, they shouldn't be allowed to make/sell/buy guns that look like the real thing. I have a BB Handgun, and I could swear it looks like a real gun. I used to shoot cans and stuff in my backyard... but since the war and the terrorist and stuff.... I haven't shot it in a while. I still got a CO2 cartirdge left and some BBs
ckcsaber
I've got 3 airsoft guns. 1 full automatic, and the other 2 are just regular ones, needing to be reloaded after each shot. I WANT to get a semiautomatic one..... That would be sweet.

Anything can be used to threaten a person with, but by banning airsoft guns you're destroying a whole hobby. Damn, they even make water pistols that look like the real thing today. Yes, there are a few rare incidents where an airsoft gun has been used to threaten an innocent person, but most airsoft players are well aware of this, and mature enough to take precautions. In addition, you have to be 18 in order to get an airsoft gun, so at that age you could just buy a real one if that was your intention (a real one wouldn't be any more expensive, actually). It all boils down to sound and reasonable safety procedures, which most 18 year olds are capable of following. When we're out shooting, our guns are always on safe when in an area that has people with no goggles in it, and we never shoot at anything 5 m away or lower. {BK}SupremePain
yeah a friend of mine has a MP5K airsoft gun and like 3 airsoft handguns.... he also has a Uzi damn that thing is fun..... and C'j you realy dont shoot at people that are more then 5 meters away... wow..... lol WHERES THE FUN THEN?! its supose to hurt like hell! Jackass style guys.... Jackass style! aww im just kidding.... and yeah i agree with C'j that they probably wouldent use a softgun for sticking up people becuase a softgun is kinda preice'e for a guy that needs to robe someone.... im pretty sure that theres more 14 year olds that have softguns then there is 18 year olds, dont you guys think? i dont know what the rules is in the states but here in Denmark you just need a signature from your mom or dad and you can get one... that is if your under

As someone who's never owned a BB Gun (or any other type of gun, with the possible exception of a water pistol ) could you fill me in on what exactly makes it a hobby? I can see the point in owning a handgun for protection or a rifle for hunting. I can see the point in a paintball gun for playing paintball. I can't quite see the point of owning a BB Gun so that I can spend some time shooting cans, boxes, and the occassional target pad.

What the hell makes hunting with a real gun and shooting other people with paint much more valid hobbies than shooting cans and such with a bb gun? Shoot cans and boxes? Hell no. It's about style really. Pure style. Imagine you and 4 of your buddies all dressed up in camo suits. One is a team leader, carrying an M16 with a red-dot sight, and another guy is a heavy weapons specialist - toting an m249. You all carry realistic weapons, with realistic magazine capacity. You're moving through a forest with thick undergrowth, and you're tired from running around in full military gear, weighing 50 pounds, all day. Suddenly, you spot the enemy. The team leader's voice breaks the silence on the little hand held radio you're all carrying. The forward sniper has apparently spotted a perfect place for an ambush. You're instructed to move through a swamp and position yourself with your M4 ready to fire at the enemy. Now you know, it only takes one shot for you to die. When you're hit, you're dead - and that means having to wait half an hour for the game to finish without you. You crouch behind a big rock, half drenched in mud from wading through the swamp. A team mate whispers over the radio that he's set to go. Your leader commences the attack, and you let loose a few bullets at the nearest enemy - a guy in a ghillie suit wielding a menacing M24. He's taken by surprise and before he has any time to react, 4 bullets hit their mark. One down. You hug cover as his angry team mates return fire at you, while calling for assistance over the radio. Your team takes care of the rest, and soon after you find yourself talking about the battle with the opposing team. If it's still all boxes and target shooting to you, then I'm afraid I can't help you any more. Airsoft is the shiznit to me, and many others. I find paintball to be a tad silly, as the weapons look like a 5 year old's toys. Trust me, when you've cranked that Dragunov up to 720 fps, you don't want to be on the receiving end of it. Breton
But there should be something that makes the soft guns look less like real guns. They don't have to be less realistic, but you know, something put on it so that you can easily see that it's not a real gun. Oh, and BTW: 1000 posts!!!! Yay!!!!
