Hannibal
The new Official Xbox Mag had a great preview article about this game. It's done with CEL Shading. IMO CEL shading is terrible, but this game may change my mind. It actually looks like a comic book. I'll get my scanner working so you can see what I mean. Best of all, it's made by the guys who made Splinter Cell. It looks amazing!!!
Pad
hmm, made by the makers of splinter cell could be a very good thing. if only i knew what that game XIII is and what cell shading is
Com Raven
I don't think it is from Ubi Soft Montreal [makers of Raven Shield and SC], as they are now workin on Prince of Persia...

The image captions read... You wake up on a desolate beach with a bullet hole in your head and a tattoo of XIII on your chest...and your memory erased. In your pocket is a key to a New York City bank box. Before you get you bearings a team of assassins attacks preparing to finish the job. To your shock, you handle the hitmen with the killing sklls of a professional. So who the hell are you? Off to NY, where you discover that your key unlocks a safety deposit box containing a dossier on your identity. You also learn that you might have been invloved in an assassination of the Pres of the United State. This sounds a lot like that Matt Damon movie. Pages 44-46 suppose to be released in Q4 2003. It says Publisher and Developer UBI Soft. I'll scan it tomorrow after work.
Taos
Wait...before I see the pics and get too excited. Is this an xbox only game or will they allow it to be on pc as well?

Treacherous Mercenary
I think I heard about this game on my Gamepro mag.. Can't be 100% sure. ;-p
leXX
Pad - Cell shading is like Jet Set Radio Future, the cartoon style effect. I've been keeping an eye on this game, it looks good.
Rogue15
i like jet set radio future. i looked at xiii but fps and cel shading....bleh...
Jedi Apprentice
Cell Shading and a FPS in the same game? This could be a very interesting game. The cell chading in Jet Set Radio Future was good, but I hated the game so I guess I'll just have to check this one out for myself. And if it is by the guys who made Splinter Cell than it can't be that bad.
Guest Jed
Hey, you never know about cel-shading. I've been playing Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and I don't give a flip about what anyone says, it's a great game. This looks like it's worth a shot too. Jedi Apprentice
You can't ever go wrong with Zelda though..... Are you going to have a write up for it on manipulation sometime? I myself am not against cel shading, but I don't want to see it done for every game.
Guest Jed
You bet, Jedi Apprentice. My review for the new Zelda will be up probably late this weekend, along with a review for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield.
Com Raven
I hate cel-shading... And what I hate even more is the trend where just about every japanese, and also a few western devs think that every game has to be done cel-shaded now...
leXX
I like JSRF, but I agree with you Com, I certainly don't want to see Cell shading become a trend. One or two games and that's it. There is even a car racing game being done with it now, I can't remember the name of it. It has cartoon like swoosh lines to give you the effect of speed like a comic book. I have read alittle about Cell-Shading, but I don't like the idea of it really.... I hope it doesn't at least come to the PC.
Hannibal
I also hate cel shading. It ruined Robotech(among other reasons that game sucked).

leXX
I don't think you can ever really judge a game by screenshots, they never look as good as the actual game itself. I only really judge a game once I've played a demo of it or seen a video clip.

Gameplay is, but yeah..
