Image Editing/Making Programs

Acrylic

Recommended Posts

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey everybody!

Its time for another AcrylicGuitar thread. And this threads style is:

"Helping Acrylic"

Ok. I own 3 Image Editing/Making programs:

-----------------------------------

Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7.04

Adobe Photoshop 7.01

Macromedia Fireworks MX

-----------------------------------

And all of them help me in each special ways. PSP is my favorite because it is so easy to use, Photoshop has the awesome filters to make it look professional, and Fireworks has the little tiny addons that make em have a little "zing".

ANYWAYS:

I'm wondering if I could get a little help one of these programs:

Photoshop

That program is VERY VERY VERY Hard to use.

So, All I want is some advice from you guys, your little tweaks in em, or something, and if you could gimme some tutorial sites also. It would help me alot. I want to be a Photoshop master like Darky!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You,

AcrylicGuitar

Awwwww, that's so nice of ya to say that:) *sniff sniff*

Well, have a look on http://www.adobe.com for some tutorials for Photoshop. I dunno about the other programs, since I don't use 'em.

My brother (cos he does video/image editing for a living) bought Photoshop 7.0 and asked me if I wanted to install it on my computer, and I did. I actually found it pretty damn difficult to use, since I'd been using 5.5 for so long (and still am...all those sigs are done in 5.5;)). That might be why you're finding it so difficult. But, you should get the hang of it after a while, you just gotta experiment.

To be honest I don't know why you want help, your sig looks very professional;)To make a good sig (here we go), first you just gotta get a load of pics, some background basis pictures and others that you could use on the foreground. The eraser tool is what I use to cut stuff out, and it often takes a lot of zooming in and precision to get it to look right (lol). Mess about with the layer effects above where the layers are to get some nice textures and lighting effects (there's stuff like Difference, Overlay and Luminosity effects).

I'm not sure exactly what I can say, since I don't know what specifically you're having problems with. Are you having trouble with certain tools? If it's just general, I'll give you a few more tips, but if it's a more specific problem, I'll do my best to answer your questions:)

Also check http://www.google.com for tutorials if you run out of luck;)

Use layers alot. That is how you can achieve a nice look. Also mess around with the filters and layer properties. I took that advice from Darky and that really helped me out a lot with my Sig this time. Keep experimenting and soon you will know what effects you like to use and then you'll have something you like. Hope that helped in some way.

Darky IS a master of Photoshop! I will agree, that it is a hard program to use, I am currently enrolled in Graphic Design which uses a great deal of Adobe programs, including photoshop.

I have used many of Darky's Images to show my teacher what I want to do, and he is helping, but is still stumped. I do not think anyone has realized, or utilized the full power of Photoshop better than Darky.

So you can say, that he is in sense my direct inpiration in regards to the program software.

I have a mole below my right nostril and above the right side of my lip (its not weird looking, really) anyways, with the "heling brush" I made it go away, and now i can see what I look like without one...I mean, its not much of a difference.

So, ONE DAY, I'll post my pic up.....so you all can see the monster under your bed me. :)

That's gotta be the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me. Thank you so much Groovy, I'm speechless:)Whew, I'm getting all emotional:olol. Well I've been using it for a while now, and just experiment a whole lot. In the end you get a firm grip of what looks great, and you develop from there. It's all just experimentation;)

Definately . ;)

And is it ok if I use all those 3 programs, or should I just stick with one?
