It appears jackrabbit has come down with I.J.R.D ( Insesent Jedi Rambling Disease) It occurs when the victem is exposed to excess chat or "rambling" about becoming a Jedi. The cure for this disease is to play lots of Counter-Strike or Medal of Honor ( other games work well too)

Well, if you have that problem you are pretty much screwed.

There is plenty on how people think they can get an FS slot, but it's all speculative at the moment, and like JR, I'd rather just not talk about it right now. I'm tired of all the speculation along with the people who think EWOKS and JAWAS would be a good race to add with the space expansion. Fin.

Hmmm... Possibly, there will be certain quest side-stories (as in several quests that follow along with each other and complete little side stories) that upon completion will slightly increase your chances to receive an FSCS, not a guarantee or anything, but just add to the probability.

Ok that is not true at all,the dev's have said it's basically based on radom picking like 5 jedi's every 3 month's that's how hard it is i really hope the dev's clear this up soon as it's alyway's Jedi's this Jedi's that

Yup, I agree. It seems like there are 50 threads on here that start out: When I become a Jedi... or How do I become a Jedi... The devs have stated over and over, and many other people on these boards have said it too: becoming a Jedi will be very rare, most won't get the chance. Sorry guys, just don't get your hopes up, and then you won't be crushed when you never open up that extra slot.

I believe they said, "most hardcore gamers will get a FSC in about 3 months or so and regular players up to a year" in a post or in the FAQ. Also it clearly states at this link it is not by luck you get a FSC.

It doesn't say that at all!It say's force is not maily based on luck mainly so that mean's part of it is based on luck.I don't see 3 month's anywhere oh no.As it isn't fight for 3months=Jedi it's luck its in the right place at the right time and you just got to play well it monitor's all that.

So to all the Jedi's don't think your going to be a Jedi as even the dev's said its the hardest thing out and if you do out of the 10% chance then i wouldn't tell anyone and you probally won't even reach Jedi knight :)

Nobody knows how to become FS (Force Sensitive), but I'm guessing that's not how. You probably have to act like a Jedi.

I agree you probably have to act like a jedi and maybe if you are out in the depths of the outter rim you will stumple upon an old rinkled 900 year old jedi master (npc) that will train you......(this is far from being an official quote. :))

  • 3 weeks later...

Granted, I'm new around here. But...

What up will all the Jedi hatin'?

I've seen post after post where people are INSTANTLY flamed for the mere suggestion that they intend to pursue the FSCS. I don't see anyone denigrated for wanting to be, say, a Creature Handler, though.

Can someone explain the animosity? I can't see a logical explanation for it, really.

1. There have been too many Jedi-related posts

Well, if this is the reason, then don't read any future posts regarding Jedi. That would work, wouldn't it? I mean, the post isn't stopping you from reading something else, right? I don't read every single thread that pops up as new or recently replied to, and I don't get any heartburn whatsoever about what I might have missed.

2. The FSCS is so difficult to get, that only 1% of the playerbase will be able to do it.

True again. But unless you're the one rolling the dice, who's to say that the people on this board that want to be Jedi won't be amongst the 1% that accomplish it?

If somebody says they want to try and open up their FSCS, why not pat them on the back and wish them luck? They're in for a long, difficult, winding road at the end of which probably lies nothing but disappointment. Give them credit for trying, at least.

just a little note..... if you have jedi questions.. please keep it in one or two threads..... people who dont like jedi (and those are a lot) tend to get pretty annoyed by it and will go on flaming.

I hope you all understand...

Because creature handler is actually obtainable.

Well, the point, I think, is not that all players hate jedi. It's rather the point that every forum about SWG is flooded with threads about jedi. Well, if the same amount of threads were about bantha herding, everyone would be sick to tears about bantha herding too. Get it? It's the immense amount of jedi threads and posts that annoys people. If the amount of posts were proportional to how important jedi will be ingame, then this problem would never have existed in the first place.

Then, of course, when you have followed the community for more than a year, you think that nearly all topics have been discussed before. It's just that when it comes to jedi, you only have to been in the community for two weeks to be bored with the jedi threads. So the new, impatient persons starts bashing. And as long as all forums are filled with jedi threads, I see no obvious solution. The only advice I can give is this: if you are bored with jedi threads, don't read them. That's the only safe way to do it.

Happy posting everyone!

You can't master all professions. At the same time, that is. If the number of skill points hasn't been changed, you have 250 skill points as a maximum. After that, you'll have to cannibalize old skills to gain new one. So you can't possibly master all professions at the same time, while you can master them all if you have a lot of patience.

No offense, Wraith, but it's not quite that simple. Status as a Jedi is also obtainable, it's just going to be extremely difficult to get there.

I'm a proud father, in RL. If my son were to approach me and say he wanted to be the first man to visit another solar system, and he wanted to focus all of his efforts on getting into the space program with that in mind, what sort of father would I be if I crushed his dream and told him he should have more realistic goals? How supportive would I be if I told him we wouldn't see that sort of propulsion system, most likely, in either of our lifetimes?

Pursuing an "out of reach" goal still gives the pursuer the benefit of the journey. Lessons are learned. Intermediate goals are reached.

Cautioning people that they are pursuing a singularly difficult goal is one thing. Flaming them for having the audacity to suggest they might succeed is another thing entirely.

The longest, most arduous journey begins with a single step.
