They patched today and made the amount of experience needed for each skill level about 4 times higher than it was. It takes like 80,000 experience to get from First Aid III to First Aid IV now. This morning it was 25,000.

No more getting master (insert your profession here) in a week. ;)

It's probably for the best I feel........just so people don't get bored with the game and quit after only playing for a couple of weeks. Still, it has been nice being able to go through the ranks quickly. :)

I am reconsidering my profession.

To make one box as a droid engineer I would now have to make 1500 mouse droids. While the old level, 72, might have been too low, this change is durastic. As a casual gamer (2-3hours a night) I am not even sure I will be able to advance anywhere.

They probably made it easier in Beta so people could try out all the different skills. They should have done this a bit earlier, though, so they could have tested it more.

It was easier in beta and people had way more money than they will in the live game, but I am worried about the ability of the casual gamer to advance.

I wouldnt worry about it too much. I just went from basic pistol to pistol specialist on a cave expedition with the new exp system. It's going to be about finding the best exp for each lvl. I almost maxxed out rifle on the same trip but was getting better damage with the pistol so I stuck with it.

Fine as long as I get to shave his back for a new rug.

I just worry about the leveling treadmill. I topped out at lvl 45 in DAoC simply because I could not justify that much time camping to level, plus killing the same mobs over and over again drove me crazy.

While I haven't played beta, I'm under the impression that leveling is secondary to actually playing the game, which is one of the reasons I'm looking forward to it so much.

I'm glad they did this, although it may be harder for mechanics and such to level if we use teamwork and give/greatly discount resources for mechanics and such they will level just fine.

Many games such as *couch*D2*couch* were all about leveling and getting uber items...like doing 10 cow runs and 20 meph runs everyday (god did that get borring)
