volcom
I was upstairs showing my dad new games to play on pogo and I was showing him sweet tooth and I was doing it really fast for fun and he started freaking out! He was all: "Slow down, you're clicking too fast, the people on the other end can't click back fast enough to make the game work!!" and I was like: "whhhhat?" he goes:"you know, the people.!!!" I'm still laughing..... Anything funny your parents have said or done on the computer?! Share share!!
Boba Rhett
Well, my mother thought that the mouse could not be picked up from the mouse pad so she would get it "stuck" at the edge of the screen.
Surfnshannon
erm what she said...since we have the same parents! Praetorian
It took us a couple years to get my mom to be able to do everything she needed on the computer. When we got a new computer w/ Windows XP, it took us a week to convince her it basically worked the same as Windows 98. I was at a friends house one time seting my computer up for a small LAN party. He called me into his room because he couldn't get his sound working. I walked in and turned the volume up on his speakers...they started to work. Sherack Nhar
I can't remember any specific anecdot right now, but my mother simply cannot understand the concept of windows, even though she's been using XP for months!
Zygomaticus
This is weird. If there's anything I know about computers, my mom taught it to me I guess it's just because she was introduced to 'em before I was

Compa_Mighty
Well, I can't get my dad to open a computer to upgrade it by ourselves. Everytime an upgrade is needed he prefers to take it to the specialists at his company.

Then my firewall has pop-up messages asking weather or not to let certain programs access the internet. So he was also letting these programs he was downloading access the net. I pity you, my Dad just yells for me any time he gets a pop up. Hehe it's funny cuz one time he got one of those popups that looks like programs and he was about to hit cancel when I stopped him, got lucky that time. Really there's not much funny in our house, although my dad DOES have an obsession with instead of surfing he'll just put what he wants between http://www. and .com. I mean he's gone as far as doing it with http://www.ringbalona.com when they were looking for nitrateless ring balona. Heh...
Silenthunter
Wow, I pitty a lot of you guys. My mom is computer literate enough to at least surf the web, but my dad is a computer tech/web designer. He basically knows more than I do (minus Photoshop, he doesn't really use that. He uses Fireworks mostly)
darthfergie
I am the only one in my house who knows how to install programs...for some odd reason, my father, a veteran of DOS and Windows 95, just gave up on it. Every time we get a new program I'm called into install it. Can't find the file you want? Call the son who has nothing to do with his free time...he'll fix you up. I don't get it...maybe he just got a mind overload when we got WinME a while back and its problems...since then I've basically maintained the system myself. WinXP, all the upgrades, etc...plus every little problem I get called in to solve it because my parents prefer to let me mess with it and go do something entertaining while I beat the hell out of the keyboard (usually with my head in frustration ) and smite the blue screen of death. Surfnshannon
It doesn't get better. I moved out and I still am called to install programs.... okay maybe they can do that on there own... but I'm called to install hardware like PRINTERS and stuff Luckily my sis is with them now...so I'm off the hook. Xcept when she gets stuck
Redwing
I pity you all, except sh Both my parents are very computer literate, even my dad, who pretty much doesn't understand anything else My mom for one is almost as bad as I am ^^ None of them can program, but neither can I. ^_~

DarthMuffin
My father has serious problems with our printer... he doesn't know he has to turn it on before printing something (we got some scanner/printer package). This one is not related to computers, but I thought it might be good to include... He just can't figure out how to record something with the VCR
Darth Homer
I don't really have any problems from my parents, Dad's an electrical engineer & knows about as much as I do and Mom used to teach computers, she doesn't get hardware too much, but she can run it fine. Where I run into problems is my Grandmother, she has an old Mac from my Uncle, who also helps with getting Grandma organized, but she refuses to get anywhere near the internet. She is convinced that as soon as she logs on, porn will instantly download itself onto her hard drive. And nowadays, she may not be too far off. It's just as well she didn't get on, I already work tech support & she would probably call me everytime she got a pop-up.
volcom
no sttct, they just call you because they assume I dont know how or consider you the computer genius of the family, they didn't know I actually knew how to do stuff untill recently.
