ALMOST indeed, Bee! However, I've developed the plotline, made sure (to a reasonable degree) that it doesn't interfere with known canon, write it, delete half of it, and then rewrite it.

I concur. I liked Red Storm Rising, though the Jack Ryan series has a lasting series of familiar characters and mostly unique circumstances.

Thanks, Commander. I'm still attempting to find inspiration for it (I've a bunch of ideas for this and other stories), but I'll do my best.

I've picked at Executive Orders (meaning that I've read random chapters), and I've fully read The Hunt for Red October and Red Storm Rising. I need to read more about Jack Ryan. :/

Tom Clancy is a very good author. I generally enjoy his stories.
