True that. Given that we're all regular readers and writers of the English language, the words are probably pretty easy to us given only the first and last letters. It's probably some psychological thing that makes humans look for the first letter and just skim the rest of the word, and the fast-acting human brain probably searches through the dictionary in our head and finds all the words that could possibly have that combination of letters with that first and last letter; and since there are few words that are very alike, we can find the words quickly and read them with relative ease despite the way they are written.:)
