So I just saw the worst movie ever.

yes, last night I saw the worst, most retarted...pitiful excuse of a movie EVER.

It was called House of 1000 Corpses and the director is Rob Zombie. First of all I need to say that Rob should stick to music.

This movie has a plot that a 3rd grader could have gone over and made better. The backstory itself is not awful and really deserved a better plot.

The camera work is kinda...stupid, using negative images make things look scarrier aparently:confused: The movie itself is rather disturbing but the fact that the movie is just awfully and amatuerly put together is even more disturbing.

Yeah, anybody else care to elaborate? If it can be done?

the scarriest part was when the cop and the father find the dog in the back of the house!! And the doggie is like "grrr bark bark!"

The father looked and dressed exactly like Ryan in grandpa form... from Saving Private Ryan (it was the same actor, the old one in the begening and end.)

Don't diss the horror fools. You foolish heathens do not know the meaning of a good horror movie. A good horror movie is a movie you can watch with friends, and laugh at the sheer stupidity of it all. My persoal fav's have to be "Dawn of the Dead" and "Zombie", but there are others, many others.

The Evil Dead films also are a huge step in the horror/humor films. All of them are humorous (the first 2 acheive this without meaning to) but also are very very very cool. Nothing kicks as much arse as a chainsaw replaced for a hand and the almighty boomstick gripped in the other. And of course who can forget the amazing acting by Bruce Cambell with such memorable catch phrases as "Groovy", "you're going down!", and of course "Hail to the King baby!!"

When horror goes sour = Banal modern teen thrillers. Best example - Scream series

Yeah most horror flicks these days are crap (though some still manage to deliver at liest part of the goods).

Ah, the 80's and 70's, that's when they knew how to make horror.

I tend to agree with that sentiment. A lot of the older horror films are much better than their modern equivalents.

I got to see American Werewolf in London on it's release in the cinema, and it's still one of my all-time favourites. The 'sequel' (American Werewolf in Paris) just failed to capture the magic of the first film. I also saw Halloween I and II back-to-back in the cinema, and it was compelling stuff.

I like some of the vintage ghost stories as well...like The Haunting (not that execrable remake  ), The Changeling, the Legend Of Hell House, among others.

I never thought much of Psycho - but then I'd probably been desensitised by the likes of Halloween.

Evil Dead II was a great little film. House was okay too. And for some reason I actually liked Amityville II...

Splatter and gore-fests don't really do anything for me, and things like Hannibal and Dead Ringers just turn my stomach - no entertainment value for me there.

I've pretty much passed on all the 'modern' horror flicks, because it's all about blood and gore with very little focus on actual plot or character development. :/

I must say, horror is not really my choice genre. I am a more action, adventure type. There is no need for massive-scale blood-spilling in my opinion, just some classy sequences to back up a well-written, funny and clever script.

So, I can safely say that I will be going nowhere near 'House of 1000 Corpses' anytime soon. Thank you for the warning, though. I do like to know my enemy. Cheers!
