Darth Rythe
I say that you go through the list of members and delete the ones that are on like 10 or less posts or the ones that haven't posted for a long time eg 6 months to a year. Just a thought if you wanted to try it.
MasterN64
good idea. It would save room on this site. More importantly save money, and that means more stuff lucasforums can do to this site, such as new features.
Lynk Former
A purge was done a long time ago but it was a baaaaaaaaad idea. It would be a good idea however to have accounts that have no post counts who have a very old registration date, but a lot of them have been deleted in the past. ZBomber
Yeh, and lets vote off all the people we don't like! Sorry, couldn't resist..... The thing is, what if for some strange reason, you came back and your account is deleted?

Well if you have 10 or less posts it doesn't matter does it, Make a new account, but then they leave again....and so on and so on. I don't know it was just an Idea. Surfnshannon
You know, just out of curiousity, I wonder, how many people register a day....I always see someone new..... So if they were to keep on this, it would take a lot of time and that means less for LF
Darth Rythe
But the Mods or Admin whoever does it should go on a killing deleting spree.
Zoom Rabbit
Ban everyone we don't like. Like that guy over there. And his friend. And you people. All of you on the left, up to here. And the dwarf. Hey, you--you too. *(Gets banned.)*

obi
*gives Zoom his anti-strange medication* Anyways... A while back, I was off for about 6 or 7 months. I wouldn't have liked it if I came back to see my account had been deleted. It does tickle my curiosity though, why people register and never post. They probably think they are doing us a gavor, and we do appreciate the mass amount of noobs that slow down our servers. You know, people register so they can read posts..... =S

Lynk Former
Deleting existing members obviously isn't a good idea... but there is another way, but I'm not entirely sure how it would work, maybe there's a hack for vB that'll allow this... Members who don't post within a 1 or 2 week limit are automatically deleted, I know it's not fool proof but it's better than nothing.
Surfnshannon
excuse me...what about those of us who go on vacations?? and I know some of you guys get grounded.... what would we ever do without a user named crap?

Lynk Former
you nogs. I'm saying NEW MEMBERS WHO DO NOT POST WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OR FIRST TWO WEEKS OF THEIR REGISTRATION SHOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY DELETED. ...or do I have to draw a diagram?
Sivy
depends... is there going to be naked women in this diagram? i don't know about your idea lynk because alot of people like to lurk before posting. i agree about all the hundreds of users that registered over a year ago and have never posted. you should wipe them out.... all of them *evil laugh* *goes back to doing his jigsaw puzzle*
Lynk Former
So give them a limit, I know people lurk so a one or two week limit should be sufficient. It's a big forum yes but not that big that it'll take a month to look at. It would greatly cut the amount of members we have who have a post count of 0. Tis a forum, people join to obviously discuss things and talk. It's okay to lurk but more productive for the forum itself to actually make use of its resources. Ray Jones
ERR.. i lurked the forums several err.. years.. WITHOUT BEING REGISTERED. there is no need to register if you want to lurk. except you want to see poll results. one only has to be registered if he wants to post. so lynk might be right. if one registers and does not post within 2 week.. BOOOM .. throw him out. or not. i dont care much. not that much. and more less. but lynk is right.

Currently, you can't view the forums without being logged in. Presumably, this is a bandwidth-saving measure.
