I WANT GOOD MUSIC!!!

Gimmie gimmie gimmie.

Your bands (good albums overall...just A song can be downloaded)

Rock/metal/something-ish new-ish.

I'm grabbing Meteora (sue me, I don't always buy stuff when it comes out), and was thinking about some other albums...possibly some STP (recommendations?)...I'm deffinatly open to suggestions...because I'm surfing the internet trying to find an album I like by listening to samples, etc.

Nickelback's newest album, The Long Road. I enjoy all but one of the songs on there.

Audioslave's latest album, Audioslave. Again, all but one of the songs, I enjoy.

RotK soundtrack of course. :D Some people dislike Into the West and Ihated at first as well but now I love it.

The Kill Bill soundtrack is pretty good. Especially number 10, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.

The Matrix Revolutions soundtrack is great.

Evanescence's cd, Fallen, is great.

Metallica's new cd St. Anger was a let down for me but some of the songs, such as Frantic and Invisible Kid.

Songs I've been recently listening to:

Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane

Def Leopard - Pour Some Sugar On

Eagles - Tequila Sunrise

Pearl Jam - Last Kiss

Phantom Planet - Always On My Mind

Phantom Planet - Recently Distressed

Eagles - Tequila Sunrise

ACDC - Who Made Who

Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train

Soundgarden - Blow Up The Outside World

Fuel - Sunburn

Metallica - Turn the Page

38 Special - Hold On Loosely

As for STP stuff:

Vasoline

Sour Girl

Plush

Interstate Love Song

Glide

Creep

Big Empty

Big Bang Baby

Silvergun Superman

A Song For Sleeping

Crackerman

Down

Sex Type Thing

Wicked Garden

There's acoustic versions of some of those that are pretty cool too.

Rage Against the Machine just released a live album, Live at the Grand Olympic Ballroom/, that is pretty cool.

in addition to Rhett's, I reccomend:

Queens of the Stoneage - Songs for the Deaf

any Led Zeppelin CD

Pearl Jam - state College Pennsylvania May 3rd 2003 it's one of those cardboard bound live cds, but it has 3 discs and every PJ song you want except for Old Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town

I recommend Apocalyptica's latest album: Reflections. It's a three-man band from Finland, and their music is quite peculiar: they play the cello! Yes they do not play classical music: in the past they have remade countless Metallica and Slayers songs. 'Reflections' is their first original album ^_^

Hmm....i agree with the Rage suggestion, anything by them is awesome (I personally just picked up their original album on LP!).

Thirtenth Step by A Perfect Circle is very good, also check out there debut album "Mer De Noms."

Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails.

Linkin park is good, glad you got that, i've seen them in concert once and have tickets to see them again when they come to AR in February.

Master of Puppets by Metallica!!! Everyone should have a copy of this, truly a masterpiece.

Oh! And if you by any chance like techno, check out a band called "Infected Mushroom." They're very good, even if you don't like techno.

heheh! Awesome, I forgot we had other Arkies hiding here. Yeah, they are comming with POD arn't they? Gonna be an awesome concert along with the Evanescense one too...whoa...I'm gonna have my mind blown out after those two... :)

keep the suggestions comming...I'm sampling all sorts of songs etc...I figure I'll grab STP's "Thank You" CD with all of those songs on there...looks VERY good on paper.

Yeah, it's Linkin Park, POD, Hoobastank, and Story of the Year.

My friend is part of LP Underground, so he gets tickets really early, and he might even get meet and greet passes!! All those bands are good, i saw Story of the Year back at Lickfest (big concert back in October for non-Arkies and the ignorant).

Don't, Linkin Park is the WORST BAND EVER!

All their songs are all whiny and angsty, have the same verse scheme, and they should commit suicide and do us all a favor!\

Everything else mentioned is good though

*WHEW!!* I thought I was the only one that didn't like them. Good company to be in, Clefo. :)

Does it always have to be about lyrics though? I like their music. Have you heard Session? I love that song, and there's no singing in it.

I think you were looking for "Come Away With Me".. :D

And it's great stuff, if you like good vocals and mellower music. ;)

Yes, Norah Jones definitely has some good music, very mellow...other good mellow music is Enya (you know, she did Orinoco Flow [sail Away]), I have her "Greatest Hits" cd as well as A Day Without Rain. Both are very good.

She used to sing in a jazz club, she has only a rhythm section as her backup... what's not to like for a jazz connosieur looking for the new age of jazz (COWBOY BEBOP) that doesn't involve an elevator or a Dillards.

I don't see what people get out of heavily distorted guitar... sure it's loud and angry... but that's it. Guess I just don't dwell on anger well. If I want power I'll listen to some Classic Rock up through about ACDC... and only them because they used bagpipes. :D

Norah Jones... mmmmmmmmmmm...

Artoo, I'm hurt! I was just at your house playing a heavily distorted guitar! You saying I suck???? JUST KIDDING!

It sounds raw and angry, yes. And that's the purpose. It's just a different sound suited towards a different purpose. Can you imagine a flute trying to sound angry? (the correct answer is "no") Of course not. It's not made to sound angry. It's just a different tone.

And yes Norah Jones is good. Great, even.

and no, Linkin Park is NOT the worst band ever. One of the best, actually.

14 Shades of Grey (the new Staind) is awesome. Period.

Two other good bands are Sugarcult (kind of punk, kind of hard rock) and Skillet (hard rock Christian band). If you get Skillet (which you most definitely should b/c they are AMAZING), you MUST get their new cd, "Collide".

Actually, no, that award should go to the All-American Rejects. My sister listens to them like everyday, and the guy CANNOT SING AT ALL.
