Remi
I know there are a couple of Chuck Palahniuk fans other than me here, so have a look at this... "Fight Club announced" "Fight Club is set to deliver a fighting game that will portray the experience of a realistic fighter that incorporates many elements from the Fight Club movie," said Luc Vanhal, VU Games' North American president and COO. "Genuine Games has stepped up to the plate to develop a fighting game that will capture the raw intensity of street fighting that will appeal to movie fans, hardcore fighting game fans and casual gamers alike." I weep. Loudly. Not only do they fail to mention that Fight Club was originally a book, but making it a pure fighting game means they probably never even have read it... Or seen the movie outside of the few fighting scenes... Talk about a missed opportunity.
Jayel
Next Up! Shawshank Redemption the Game!!! Players will get to play as Andy Dufresne, where he has to fight off "the sisters" in a realistically textured and lit environment!!!!11 Seriously, Fight Club the Game? Humanity is doomed. Huz
Tee win. I do suspect it's more a case of "oh, we've made this fighting game but it's come out a bit crap, what can we do?" than a serious attempt to base a game on the book/movie, though. ¬ "Rise of the Fight Club" (Edit: I hate that VB smiley)
Shivermetimbers
That's awful. Horrible actually. You just cannot make Brad Pitt or Edward Nortan into a game charactor. The movie is ooooh so wonderful, I love crazy dark movies like that.
Alien426
"We all started seeing things differently. Everywhere we went, we were sizing things up. I felt sorry for the guys packing into gyms, trying to look like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger said they should." Now look at the screenshots. Seeing that it's for the Xbox I doubt there will be gore. They could at least get that right. But I fear they will do the same they did to RoboCop, that is, make it into a kiddie franchise that is not true to its roots. It seems Fight Club is also one of those things that are the creator's greatest triumph and biggest burden. On Chuck's site are news about a Playstation 2 game. There's a good quote para-phrased somewhere there too. I'm too lazy to look it up again though. :~
