yes, this is why it is called aptly called the swamp..... perhaps you should move your query to tech forum :p

**goes of to start thread 'um, can you swamp dudes explain the theory of relativity for me' **

as for your fan noise, whenever there is too much noise, there are parts vibrating or loose(or even broken), sometimes it can be a factor of power supply being delivered incorrectly.... some fans are just crap and make alot of noise(this is as they are made badly)

......you just gotta open it up and have a look Groovy

The problem with taking a power supply apart is that if you don't know what you're doing, it's potentially lethal... Has someone pointed that out yet?

Groovy, if you can't afford a new PSU, you always have the option of dumpster diving! :) Check out some of the dumpsters around Best Buy and other stores like that. Sometimes you can find some decent hardware.

Though, power supplies really arn't... all that expensive to begin with... Come on man, you're living at home and you're employed. You can't afford 60 bucks? :¬:

Although, even if it's making a noise, that may not even be anything other than an annoyance. Just have a backup plan in case it decides to die. ;)

i got 2 fans in my computer, and after a cold night (after a night in which i didn't leave the pc on) it would make a RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR noice, unless i'd hit it a few times where the wires are coming to that cirkle (oh yes, call me the tech guru) and then it would stop...been doing this for a month or two
