actually not to burst any of you guys' bubble, but the Tim Burton batmobile was built from scratch, frame, body and so on everything was made from scratch. i know this cuz i know the guy who built the past few batmobiles. as a matter of fact here is a pic of a batmobile in production right now. it is a REAL old pic however.

kinda cool me thinks

WTH! The original batman car was cool, and i'll even say that the movie batman car was cool (*remembers a hilarious episode of drew carey featuring that car*), but that looks plain silly. How can he zip around gotham city catchin villains with those big tyres ! It looks more like the DELIVERANCE-MOBILE to me.....

Neat tech.

Remember, they have to get the thing _working_ so that's probably the machine that'll run it (if you imagine the one from the comics/1989 movie, all they have to do is add the shiny stuff on this rig). The first and second Batmanobile (movie) was a Vette (I think Ferrari had also *something* to do with it too though).

If the thing in the pictures has an engine as it looks, I'd drive that downtown and kick the **** out of any car in my way. In any case, even JUST LIKE THAT it's a better change from a super-homo-anal-looking Batmanobile from 3 & 4.

Or do you want THIS back?

ok i will say this again for those who didn't read my post before.

the batmobile from the movie's with micheal keaton was built from SCRATCH......it was NOT based around a corvette frame at all. it had a custom made frame built from scratch and was mostly made out of fiberglass. the motor was a full on custom job as well if you guys have any doubts about this go to the George Barris custom website and ask the Guru's there the guys who actually built the Batmobiles past and present they will confirm what i have told you guys.

now the replica's that have been made they were most likely built around a corvette frame.

What? The original TV Batmobile?

Actually, it was kinda cool...

Me, I'm a Tim Burton man myself. Good old Michael Keaton, good old Robin-free, good old Joker and Penguin, good old gothic look, good old costume (none of the fancy-pants crap we were subjected to in the last two outings) and good old Danny Elfman behind the music. Bring him back for Batman Begins, that's what I say.

But then, I say a lot of things...

Still doesn't refute the fact that it was a Chevrolet (maybe not Corvette per se as a brand though) Batmanobile.

And you can't say it doesn't bear a resemblance to some of their cars, even if it was made from scratch.

Back to the point though - the new TANK rules.

i will agree that it does resemble the old style Sting Ray i thought it was actually a modified sting ray for the longest time, but when i met this mans acquaintance i asked him and he said they build everything.

but i will also say that the new ATV Batmobile looks superb.

and Astro the guy in that pics is the guy who has built the past batmobiles excluding the Futura batmobile that Adam West drove. His name is Joey Grato and that "batvan" was s'posed to be the new batmobile but the owner of the van was gettin very punkish so they terminated his contract and quit workin on the van.
